Re: Re: problem with skype
Empty mail, but I have problems with skype also. When I run skype in my windowmanager (OrboRox) I get artifacts in the sound when moving the mouse over diffrent windows and clicking on the menues. However if I click on menues or on windows in a vncwindow, it doesnt generate any sound problems. Does anyone know what might be wrong? /NisseOn 9/15/05, Holger Siebert [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: --Holger SiebertClouds and Radiation GroupLeibniz-Institute for Tropospheric ResearchPermoserstr. 1504318 LeipzigGermanyOffice: ++49-(0)341-235-3431/2159Lab:++49-(0)341-235-3424 FAX:++49-(0)341-235-2461email:[EMAIL PROTECTED]--To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. I could see on internet peaple having the same error, but i didn't find solution for me. Of course you need read/write access to /dev/dsp for audio in/output. Just make yourself member of the 'audio' group. Don't know about the other error (I use other softphones/protocols). Regards, Bruno. I don't have any 'audio' group in my system. So, this could be my problem. Shell i just add group 'audio'? -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Look at that line of the output you posted: # ls -l /dev/dsp crw-rw 1 root audio 14, 3 2005-04-29 23:21 /dev/dsp You don't see the audio group ownership? Of course that group exists on your system. Just see /etc/group ... All you need to do is add your regular user account to that group, e.g. via useradd -G -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble?
