What tool could I use to read a dwg autocad file?

You could try LX-viewer (http://lx-viewer.sourceforge.net/).
There is also BricsCad, a propietary autocad clone wich runs under linux.

Afaik, you can't work directy with dwg files under Linux, since dwg
is a propriatary AudoDesk file format.

The best you can do is convert it to a DXF either in AutoCAD itself or
using a stand alone convertor.

Take a look at http://www.ribbonsoft.com/qcad_doc_faq.html for details
