Mil gracias por la ayuda, era lo primero, habia que hacer algunos cambios en la seguridad local del winXP, desactivar las contrase;as encriptadas. Vaya que es todo un mundo. Uso debian stable e instale el samba de la misma rama, hasta ahi todo bien, copie el smb.conf del sever anterior que tenia en rh9 en el cual compartia informacion con pcs windows, pero cuando intento ingresar por windowsXP este me pide la contrase;a y el password pero no me permite ingresar, alguien ha tenido un problema similar, encontre un problema parecido en internet, desactivando el logon path solucionaria el problema, pero no pasa nada, Alguien tiene alguna direccion donde pueda buscar esto. [Samba] PDC + WinXP + Noms de fichiers trrrrrrrop longs
Salut, J'ai un PDC (sous sarge) qui fonctionne trés bien. Mon souci : un des utilisateurs du réseau a pris l'habitude de créer des arborescences trés profondes et il sauvegarde des mails directement dans son répertoire, ce qui génère parfois des noms de fichiers énorrmes. Du coup, à l'ouverture de session, XP dit qu'il ne peut pas accéder à tel ou tel fichier et coupe la synchro du profil, ce qui se traduit par un nouveau profil vierge à chaque login ! Une idée pour éviter ça ? J'ai essayé de l'éduquer, mais le problème est récurrent ... :(( Merci pour le coup de main. Hallo, ich habe Samba als PDC eingerichtet, WinXP an der Domäne angemeldet. Soweit so gut. Allerdings kapier ich das mit den Benutzerprofilen von nicht so ganz. -- 'linux magazin 2/2003 S38ff.' Wenn ich mich mit dem Benutzer ein zweites mal an der Win Kiste anmelde, kommt die Meldung, dass weder ein Servergespeichertes Profil, noch ein lokales Profil gefunden wurde. :( [global] .. logon path = \\netbiosname\samba\profile\%U .. [profile] path = /home/samba/profiles .. .. Wo muss ich denn nun suchen, linux oder eher ein Windows Prob...?? Hi I'm running mixed environtment myself, and I have the user option and password encryption, vorks fine from NT, win9x, win2000 and xp. If u don't want to use password and/or user, then u scould use the share option. I have tryed that too but I like the password authentication. I guess u have looked at man smb.conf? I've tried both user and share level access with WinXP and cannot get it to connect to a Samba share (I can get a Win95 to connect with share access). I've tried encrypted and non-encrypted passwords (in smb.conf). I have not tried the registry hack yet to turn off XP encryption. This is the Home version of XP. Should I be trying to get share or user level access to work. The person using the XP machine doesn't want to be bothered with passwords when accessing the share (or when starting the XP machine). Any tips no how to configure this? All they want is a directory in they $HOME directory available for read and write access from the XP machine. Hallo, ich bekomme mein Netzwerk zwischen Linux mit Samba und XP nicht ans laufen. Folgendes habe ich getan: 1. Versuch, eine Verbindung aufzubauen vom XP-Rechner aus (ping funktioniert in beide Richtungen) bringt keine neuen Log-Meldungen und unter Windows nur die Fehlermeldung: [...] Die Liste der Server in dieser Arbeitsgruppe ist zurzeit nicht verfügbar. Der Windowsrechner ist mit der festen IP 192.168.1.11 konfiguriert, mask 255.255.255.0, kein Standardgateway, kein DNS- und kein WINS-Server. Installiert sind: Client für MS-Netzwerke Datei- und Druckfreigabe für MS-Netzwerke TCP/IP Ich kann mit den Fehlermeldungen nicht allzuviel anfangen. Meine smb.conf folgt im Anhang. Die Angabe der Netzmaske erlaubt dem nmbd den Broadcast richtig zu erkennen und auszuwerten. hosts allow = 192.168.1. 127. hosts allow = 192.168.1.0/24 127.0.0.0/8 Ähnlich wie bei den Interfaces, noch die Netzmaske definieren. Die meisten heutigen Dienste arbeiten am besten mit Classless-Notation (CIDR). Oder zum Testen erst mal auskommentieren. Als solcher war's auch gedacht.
Allerdings sind jetzt noch ein paar Fragen aufgetaucht.
Ich starte smbd und nmbd über xinetd. Ich kann dort nur netbios-ssn
mittels bind an die LAN-IP binden. Sobald ich netbios-ns binden möchte,
kommt kein Verbindungsaufbau mehr zustande. Funktioniert das nicht oder
mache ich was falsch? Hier der Auszug aus /etc/xinetd.conf:

Beim Anpassen der Firewall ist mir außerdem aufgefallen, daß XP nach dem
Connecten ein tcp SYN auf port 113 des Samba-Servers schickt, also
identd abfragt. Kann ich das XP abgewöhnen? Welchen Sinn soll das
machen?
Mir ist aufgefallen, daß der Owner des smbd-Prozesses bei gleicher PID wechselt,
wieso?
Folgende Ausgaben lagen innerhalb einiger Sekunden:
fzzgrr@home:~$ ps aux | grep mbd

Der normale inetd ist auch nicht schlechter, dafür aber problemloser in die Debian-Installation integriert. Während Du beim xinetd vieles von Hand machst. Letztendlich bleibt nur Arbeit mit Fehlerpotential ohne jeden wirklichen Nutzen. Diese Sicherheitsstrategie erinnert an die Frage: Hat man weniger Autounfälle, wenn man statt einem gleichzeitig zwei oder drei Sicherheitsgurte anlegt? service netbios-ns #bind = 192.168.1.10 only_from = 192.168.1.0/24 127.0.0.0/8 Der nmbd möchte gerne auf allen Schnittstellen horchen und entscheidet entsprechend der Konfiguration in smb.conf selbst, welche Broadcasts für ihn wichtig sind und auf welchen Schnittstellen er antwortet. Hello, I have problem with connecting to the samba server on my Debian box from a WinXP machine. I can connect to the samba server from all my other Linux box but I just can't connect to it from an XP machine. I can see the Debian Samba server listing in the XP's WorkGroup place. I got a message account not authorized to log in from this station when I try to connect.
