Hello List,

other people who have the same problem or no problem with it ?!

Only thing I found relevant was a closed bug :

I have a Quickcam pro 4000 which works in SID (AMD64).

I use the 2.6.37 Linux kernel image.

The gnome Cheese application has a very bad picture quality however with
Skype the image is good.

Agreed. Perhaps Brian thought "Squeeze" was the name of an Ubuntu release?

Indeed? For me that seems fully on topic here!

Slightly offtopic here.

Be mindful of the vendor and device numbers for your camera. I had
trouble setting up my camera for a while because at least three distinct
VEN:DEV combos are all sold as one model of camera, and look virtually
identical: the Gear Head 1.2mp camera. LARTs are due to HW makers that
do that kinda thing.

In case it is any help, the Quickcam Pro 5000 is listed in
http://www.ideasonboard.org/uvc/ . I've never tried a Logitech
camera.

The bug is not closed, there is still one user experiencing the problems.

Have you tried the steps mentioned in comment #57?
