I believe this defaults to 5. I decreased this to 2 and the server disconnects went away. This problem is much easier fixed by setting MAXPERIP=SOME LARGE NUMBER on the server. By default courier allows 4 connection from the same IP, mozilla wants to make 5 (performance), so you need to tell courier to allow larger number of connections. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. I use it both ways home and work similar to you. If you want I can look at my courier-imap-ssl config. I think I tracked down the problem. Our company uses Cisco firewall, and reading some Cisco documentation, they have MAP (and other protocol) timeout, which means that firewall will disconnect the connection if it is idling some period of time (5 min default). So I set check for new mail to be every 3 minutes. Seems to work for now. Now I want to investigate if mozilla has other ways to keep connection alive. The server has gone down or there may be a network problem. Lowering this value to 2 solves it (although the logic behind it goes 'woosh' over my head). Hope this helps.
