diff between amd64 and ia64

Heh, I had the same 'prob' :) IA64 is Intel's 64bit technology for Itanium server architecture ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IA-64) you need amd64 version for your notebook. Just to announce, amd64 (x86_64) is used both on AMD's (Athlon/Opteron) and Intel's (Pentium D/Core/Core 2 Duo...) CPUs. So you need to download amd64 version anyway.
