Evolution - Error to empty the trash
Hi, I can't empty the trash folder. I see an error message when I do that "File > Empty Trash" How can I do it manually? I read the tutorial at http://taufanlubis.wordpress.com/2010/11/13/cant-empty-evolution-trash-bin-–-error-while-expunging-folder/ but didn't work. I'm using POP server, Evolution 2.30.3 in Debian Squeeze. Thanks for any help, Markos -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-user-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? evolution error
Any way to get rid of this. Ive tried to fix it for some time but still pops up. FYI: I do NOT want to use mbox The reported error was "Failed to append to mbox:///home/frosty/.local/share/evolution/mail/local#Sent: Invalid folder URI 'mbox:///home/frosty/.local/share/evolution/mail/local#Sent' Appending to local 'Sent' folder instead.". The file you mentioned is in place along with /local_mbox I think there is something wrong in this area, as you suggested. I seem to recall, that in past iterations of evolution...these files were in a .evolution file, not in the .local file. hence my failure to locate the issue. I'll try your other suggestions about permissions & hope that cures the issue. Thanks! john -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-user-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Does /home/myuser/.local/share/evolution/mail/local exist? what permissions does the folder have? do you have free space in your partition? I dont use evolution, but there must be in the configuration of your account somewhere that tells you the path where your mails is trying to get saved. check if its there. Or check where it is and configure that path in evolution hope it helps -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-user-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Evolution error message
I posted this a week or so back, or tried to. I am getting the error message below every time I send an email. I wish to fix this but really don't know what or how to do it. The reported error was "Failed to append to mbox:///home/myuser/.local/share/evolution/mail/local#Sent: Invalid folder URI 'mbox:///home/myuser/.local/share/evolution/mail/local#Sent' Appending to local 'Sent' folder instead.". It stores some data in gconf, so you may check there did you check filesize and so on of this files ls $HOME/.evolution/addressbook/local/system/{addressbook.db,addressbook.db.summary} ? where did you store your contacts ? and what kind of account were you using ... i.e. with exchange contacts are stored in global address book on the server, so backup of the local mailbox data is not very helpful I don't know if gnome has a separate address book like kde does but in this case it is possible to be on another place and not in the addressbook.db file regards -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-user-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Re: Evolution: Error loading addressbook
Thanks. I did the following: sudo chown -R eric:eric /home/eric/.evolution/ sudo chmod -R 770 /home/eric/.evolution/ but that did not resolve the issue. Since I can read my email, I was wondering if there are specific permissions at the database level and enforced via data in addressbook.db? Thanks. Hi. I restored evolution from a backup and now I get the error: Can you offer any suggestions on how to address this? I searched Google and Debian bugs and found very contradictory reports. Thanks. Eric -- Eric Brooks www.digitalexplorations.org <>
Evolution error
I have Debian running great in Damn Small Linux and see an error message in the terminal-evolution-summary _WARNING**message failed:403 forbidden. I ma running fluxbox as window manager but did not install the full GNOME desktop. Could it be that the errors are because I did not install all of GNOME- Desktop and Control Panel? Re: Evolution error
No, my hostname is not wombat...wombat is a program w/ a lib that's somehow related to evolution (and maybe other apps too?). Not sure what its purpose is. Evolution error
It seems that I still have been unsuccessful in getting Evolution to work after several weeks since its initial release. The error I keep getting is: evolution-shell-WARNING **: Cannot access Bonobo/ConfigDatabase on wombat: (IDL:OAF/GeneralError:1.0) I know I have bonobo and bonobo-conf installed. Just wondering how I can resolve this problem... --- Arlen Carlson <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Domestic happiness and faithful friends.
