Ist das in sid? die Daten aus apt-cache sind aus woody . arne@rincewind:~$ apt-cache search galeon wprint - WorldPrint is a filter for Mozilla (Galeon, etc.), Htmldoc, galeon - Mozilla based web browser with GNOME look and feel habe eben jetzt noch bei debian.org gesucht galeon aber auch nicht gefunden glaube aber ihn ganz normal per apt-get übers Netzt instaliert zu haben da bei galeon immer diese Abhänigkeit zur mozilla-version gegeben ist. Im Übrigen wußte ich auch nicht, daß man rpm files mit apt benutzen kann, danke. GrußWolf davon habe ich keine Ahnung, aber mit alien kann man Packete konvertiern die manchmal auch funktionieren. Hallo ihr da draußen, folgende Installation: Als root:woody, gnome1.4, mozilla0.9.8, debianisiertes galeon1.0.3.rpm. Die Installation läuft scheinbar glatt, dann erhalte ich aber nur einen weißen screen mit einer Fehlermeldung aud gdkcolor.c (gdk_color_parse assertion spec!=NULL failed. Não to conseguindo baixar o galeon pra o Woody, eu tinha ele no stable, as tive que formatar a máquina por problemas aqui na empresa (troca de HD, etc...) Bem, você precisa trocaras as linhas do source.list! Duvida: tem diferença de idioma entre os pacotes do site oficial da Debian e do mirror brasileiro?! De idioma eu não sei mas eles são diferentes; troquei as linhas do source.list 3 vezes esse final de semana e deu 3 atualizações diferentes... Não lembro o que usei pra instalar o galeon, acho que foi o da matrix, mas o servidor da UFPR não tava completo, faltava dependencias para instalar o Galeon, e outros arquivos... Obrigado. Marcelo. Não to conseguindo baixar o galeon pra o Woody, eu tinha ele no stable, as tive que formatar a máquina por problemas aqui na empresa (troca de HD, etc...) I believe there're .debs at galeon.sourceforge.net though and there're galeon and mozilla0.9.3 debs in unstable or you can get the mozilla tarball from ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla/nightly like I still do. To get the debs from unstable, add the following line to /etc/apt/sources.list deb http://http.us.debian.org/debian unstable main contrib non-free and run apt-get update and then apt-get install for both packages. You can then remove the entry from sources.list and update again if you would prefer not to install further packages from unstable. HTH

Thank you for your reply! Will this break woody with up to date versions of woody packages such as xlibs? If not, then why not try changing sources.list to unstable long enough to install galeon? Is there a good argument against that? I tried individually downloading all the dependencies one at a time. Things threaten to become frighteningly complex. If you change your sources.list you need to to 2 updates (1 to get to sid, the other to get back to woody afterwards) and you need to watch apt to make sure it is going to do what you want. If you download each package manually then you know exactly which packages were changed because you changed it by hand. OTOH you have to track all the dependencies by hand. I did that just now with gnucash because it broke after a recent upgrade (no idea why). It has a massive tangle of dependencies. The new version is really cool though. HTH, -D
