[icewm-themes] Call For Votes

2001-07-27 Thread Eduard Bloch
Hello dear Debian users,

I am going to revise the current icewm-themes package, since in my
opinion there should be some new cool themes (that user get from
icewm.themes.org anyways), and on the other hand we could drop seldom
used themes to make place for the new ones. To make the best decision, I
would like to have something I could count, so I ask you (users) to vote
for the themes that you would like most and that should remain in the
package.

How to vote? A valid vote is a mail, sent to [EMAIL PROTECTED], which
meet the following requirements:

- The subject must contain the words icewm-thems and votes
- The body must contain the keywords (Theme-names from the list below)
  - one keyword per line!
- If you don't include the names from the list, you vote against them
- Hints - see below

So here is a list of themes (I commented my personal intension):

Athens (drop)
Natural (keep)
TechnologicEnvy (drop)
Wigren (keep)

  containing your favorite themes.
- If you want to add a new theme to this list, send a follow-up to this
list, quote the whole message and add your theme to the list of new
stuff. Then voters can use the new mail as a list to vote for.

Gruss/Regards,
Eduard.

Re: changing icewm themes

2001-01-05 Thread irvine

Sorry for getting back in touch so late and, of course,
thank you for replying to my mail.

Is IceWM actually running ??

 Yes it is.

The problem is this. The very first time that I started X,
it started with icewm as this was the only window manager
 that I had installed.

The default theme was warp3 but I wanted to change it. When
I did change it to 'aesthetec', or something else, I noticed
(hard not to) that when I started xterm I was unable to type
 anything in the xterm window.

In short icewm is running but under some themes it doesn't run
 xterm properly.

What you describe is similar to what
happens if you run X without a window manager. Do you have an X mouse
cursor ?? Does it disappear when you enter your xterm ?? You can
actually type in the term, but as you say, you don't see the cursor to
realize that you can. If you can, type the executable for IceWM and hit
enter.

If you start X via startx, does your ~/.xinitrc file have the command
to start up IceWM ??

Hall Stevenson

changing icewm themes

2001-01-02 Thread irvine

Hello all.

I recently installed X window and decided that I
would use icewm as the window manager.

My problem is that when I change the theme from
the default to something else I am no longer able to
get a cursor in the xterm window - that is I am no
longer able to type anything there.

I just wonder if anyone else has had this problem,
has any idea what the problem could be or any
troubleshooting suggestions?

TIA

T:Irvine

icewm themes on potato

2000-05-11 Thread cls--colo spgs
debs,

i upgraded my slink deskbox to potato. (thanks project
for a seamless transition. and btw, it looks and
feels great!) i, not thinking i'd lose some of my
favorite themes, replaced the ones in slink with the
ones in potato.

is there any way to get the back the old themes?
(e.g., blueice and jaywalk...)

icewm themes

Icewm forgets the theme I've set up.
When I exit and start again it start with the default theme.

How to fix it?

Thanks
 Attila

The way that I know of is to edit your ~/.icewm/preferences file to your
liking. There might be a gui program out there, but I don't know of
one. Here's the relevant part of mine:

 Theme=BrushedMetal/truetype.theme
