Presumably something similar should be done with SSH. https://www.linuxliteos.com/manual/network.html > I have the same problem with xrdp: I can connect with rdesktop from the > local machine , but not from a remote one See above, replace SSH with RDP. > for this reason I suspect firewall, if so hoe to disable it !! Hi, openssh-server is linked against libwrap0 which in turn is controlled by the files /etc/hosts.deny and /etc/hosts.allow. What is the content of these files on your system? Regards, jvp.

With only the hints you've given it seems a bit early to blame the firewall. 1) is there any connectivity between "remote" and "local" (I'm trying to use your terminology above) 2) Is IP working between both machines? Do both have IP addresses? Which? Is there a route from one to the other? E.g. from "local" try in a command shell "ping remote" (how do you spell "remote"? by its IP address?) and look carefully at the command's output. Post all that here. From the command's output you can differentiate between a routing failure, a name resolving problem (*if* you are going by host names, which we don't know yet) or packets not arriving. In short, more details needed :-) regards - -- tomás -BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE- Version: GnuPG v1.4.12 (GNU/Linux) iEYEARECAAYFAlkJt9cACgkQBcgs9XrR2ka4OwCeMpdLohgQwQ72K+5Cznat/FQN 4NUAnAlQzsny9ui8AwcYL7/6+3zrvt8C =n0p2 -END PGP SIGNATURE-
