Installation jdk1.1-runtime
Hallo, bei der Installation des Paketes jdk1.1-runtime (woody) bekomme ich folgende Meldungen: No diversion `diversion of /usr/lib/jdk1.1/bin/jar by jdk1.1', none removed No diversion `diversion of /usr/lib/jdk1.1/bin/appletviewer by jdk1.1', none removed No diversion `diversion of /usr/lib/jdk1.1/bin/javakey by jdk1.1', none removed Darauf kann ich mir überhaupt keinen Reim machen. :-( Was tun? Jemand einen guten Rat? Übrigens möchte ich solange, wie es irgend geht, bei deb-Paketen bleiben. ;-) Gruß Rüdiger -- Kaum macht man's richtig, schon geit dat! __ Gesendet von Yahoo! Re: Icq-java and jdk1.1-runtime
Hmm. Sorry, not familiar with that distribution of icq-java. I got mine from www.mirabilis.com/download All you need to do is gunzip|tar the file, and edit install file to specify the directory where your java files are. Try that. You won't need to uninstall wm too. Re: jdk1.1-runtime
I downloaded the files listed below into my system and unpacked them using dpkg -i XX.deb Everything seems to install fine. I moved a simple class I have been working on over to the system and got the following error: $ jre -cp /home/doug/java dens SIGSEGV 11* segmentation violation Full thread dump: Killed I received the same error trying to run one of the demos also. Any ideas? Thanks again for your help! Doug Daniel Martin at cush wrote: -BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- I managed to find the old jdk 1.1.3v2 .debs which can be installed on bo (libc5 systems). It is the heart of the difference between Debian 1.3 and 2.0. There is a shell script called autoup.sh in the developer's corner on http://www.debian.org that can automate the worst of the upgrade (it will upgrade via ftp). After that, you can use dselect to finish the upgrade (also via ftp). Be warned though, it took me the better part of a day (~10 hrs) to download everything for this, although a minimal install should take less. The ftp location for hamm is 'ftp.debian.org/pub/debian/dists/hamm/main'. -- Ed -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Although I was using the jdk1.1 for a long time before upgrading to libc6 - the old jdk1.1 package allowed one to install it on a bo system, which was most appreciated at the time. I still have the 1.1.3.v2-1 .deb packages if someone wants them (these can be installed on a libc5 system) - note however that there may be bugs the maintainer has fixed in recent packages. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED] the easiest way to find Debian packages is to go to the Debian Packages section on www.debian.org (There are links to pages nearer to you - e.g. I use www.de.debian.org) There you can search for the package you need via CGI. The links returned by the same will redirect you to the appropriate pages. The advantage is that those pages contain both links to the package location on the ftp-server as well as a short summary and links to packages required by the package you want to install. I recollect having downloaded your packages at a spot like this: libc6 -- hamm/base xlib6g -- hamm/X11 xpm4g -- hamm/X11 - -- Stone's Law: One man's simple is another man's huh? - -- == Christian Zander * web: ishmael.ml.org/~zander * email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] == -BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE- Version: 2.6.3ia Charset: noconv iQCVAwUBNW200xZiJXs96Q11AQGyUAP+LJzudRECW9T3fgm545MaqES8XTilFKv/ fENJvlLFdVRzJ/6woWFdDU/W6TI3lcnCDy6kZ7CuhMS9t4c6LWb5afTOJhst8626 9NdITlzk8gB3TTQDOHrpbMw9FKbA08MYzVhikVgeBhMJl6qDbWAR4ehr0cJi3Rok LWRzGXzzMdk= =Kx1d -END PGP SIGNATURE- -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. jdk1.1-dev depends on jdk1.1-runtime
Hi, Choosing jdk1.1-dev in dselect on frozen/hamm dumps me into the conflict resolution thing with the message jdk1.1-dev depends on jdk1.1-runtime Is this true? Where do I get jdk1.1-runtime? thanks, Stuart -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
