Fglrx from Sid repo worked without any problem.

Thanks a lot for the advise.

That line won't work, since i have deleted everything that has to do
anything with fglrx. I will try to get fglrx from unstable repo, if it
doesnt work either, will post the log.

And, btw. I am sorry for posting the first email from my not-subscribed
email account.

Thanks,

I use kernel 2.6.37 and fglrx. I found that the driver in squeeze did
not support my card. So I simply used fglrx from unstable (it pulls
lots of xserver-* package from unstable).

BTW it would be really useful for everyone if you posted something like:

$ grep fglrx /var/log/Xorg.0.log | grep EE

kernel 2.6.37 and ati proprietary drivers

2011-03-18 Thread Eren Caylan
Hi all,

When I try to install ati proprietary drivers, X doesn't start again.
There isnt any problem with 2.6.32, and without any problem compiz works
with it.

In fact, I don't care about compiz, but I want to be able to use Ati
prop. drivers. Free drivers also seem to work without any problem,
except when X starts, it shows a stupid deformed image of the last
session.

I also tried to compile the kernel (like nvidia users had to do it
before with squeeze and sid). However as soon as ati generates its
xorg.conf, X doesnt come back.

Did anyone else also experienced the same problem?

(btw. I followed wiki.debian.org article)

Thanks
Eren

Wheezy x64
radeon hd 4000 series (vga)
kernel 2.6.37-2
