Re: right click and resize selected images in Konqueror
I am at present looking at this (though I would like a package which I can suggest to the user to install using Synaptic and not having to deal with scripts editing): http://gentoo-wiki.com/HOWTO_Resize_Images_using_ServiceMenus_(right_click) At home I have it working, I think I have the package picwiz installed there, as it description looks like what I have: $ aptitude show picwiz Package: picwiz ... Description: Simple picture resizing wizard for KDE/Konqueror Picwiz is a simple picture resizing wizard that is meant to be called from a Konqueror context menu (a.k.a. service menu). It allows batch resizing of any number of files to standard sizes (640x480, 800x600 ...) in three or four mouse clicks. But of the two, picwiz is much more simpler, though Kim has lots of options. thanks a ton, -HS -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? right click and resize selected images in Konqueror
Hello, Is there a package like nautilus-image-converter for KDE? This is for a person beginning to learn how to use KDE for usual common tasks: browsing, emailing, documents, etc. He wants to send pictures via email but wants to resize them to a smaller size before attaching. I looked around and discovered nautilus-image-converter does exactly that (as does Windows XP Image Resizer powertoy). I have already installed nautilus-image-converter on his computer and he is happy with that functionality, but he prefers KDE. Something like this KDE which can be installed via apt-get? thanks, -HS -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Kelly Clowers wrote: Gwenview (KDE4 default image viewer (also available in KDE3) and Kview (KDE3 default image viewer) should both be able to do that. Cheers, Kelly Clowers Yes, I have already tried that. But the user was looking for right clicking on the selected thumbnails in Konqueror and choosing to resize them in one go -- all this without having to open the images in another application. Now before I encountered this request, I never realized how convenient this can be for non-expert users. I myself use a bash script to do this kind of stuff (using imagemagick). But I have just realized a feature like this is extremely useful for an average user. I have played around with Nautilus's image resizer, and I must say it rocks. It works in a single image or on all the selected image. Very neat! I wish Konqueror had something similar.
