VirtualBox[1] will do fine and has a nice and pleasant user
interface. I fear it won’t fix your Shift key, though.

The question is: what kind of hardware do you have? How strong? How
many ram, etch...
But generally speaking Virtualbox with headless mode and two guest
(basic debian with 256 dedicated ram memory) will be enough.

thanks, I will try configuring it on vbox 4.2
my laptop (Lenovo V470) has 4GB RAM
