wterm font config
Hey guys, I've been using wterm and it seems to fit the bill for a lightweight and fast terminal emulator. However, whenever I use MidnightCommander or aptitude, wterm can't seem to display the fonts properly. There are characters that are not shown properly and just appear as white boxes. MC and Aptitude work fine with xterm however. Any ideas? I was thinking changing the fontset might do the trick but can't seem to figure out how to do it. WTerm Package Depedency Problems/Conficts
Has anyone managed to fix this yet?? Configurando una wterm.
Saludos colisteros, Me gustaria poder personalizar los colores del fondo de una wterm el man habla de las opciones -bg -fg para establecer los colores pero no hace referencia(creo no entiendo mucho el ingles)a algun fichero de configuracion para editar y configurar esto.. a los usuarios de wterm, ¿como hacen esto?,¿Con un .wtermrc?. Gracias. Pues en tu ~/.Xresources , puedes darle los parametros que quieras a la wterm. Entre otras opciones, yo tengo las siguientes: wterm*foreground: white wterm*font: -misc-fixed-medium-r-normal--12-*-*-*-*-*-iso8859-15 wterm*saveLines: 500 wterm*cursorColor: grey wterm*transparent: true wterm*shade: true wterm*wmmenu: false wterm*scrollBar: false Saludos.

el mouse en wterm
Hola Estoy con un ssh en un wterm y con pine (y icewm) Ahora el mouse no señala texto, sino que presiono en los botones (texto) del pine y hace como si hubiera un botón! Y en el listado de mails, puedo moverme con el mouse... una pasada... Pero si quiero poegar texto como lo puedo hacer? Parece que hay dos maneras de actuar el mouse, cortar y pegar (implementado por el servidor x??) o bien seleccionar elementos (implementado por wterm) Como puedo conmutar? he probado alt+botones, control+botones, etc... today i upgraded some packages (following stable/unstable) i think a new version of wterm was installed. problem is, it is no longer following my settings for wterm in my .Xdefaults file. any ideas? regards buzz

Pues es paradójico que a mi Rxvt me vaya de perlas con Vim y en cambio una vez instalado el paquete `wterm' lance un Xterminal del mismo y no funcionen las teclas FIN y INICIO, aunque sí el tema de los acentos. :-? En cuanto a rapidez y ligereza, `wterm', un hack de `rxvt', mejora pero no espectacularmente. ¿Dónde puedo conseguir ese terminal? ¿O en qué paquete viene? Gracias de antemano. Creo que el paquete me lo he bajado de algún directorio slink-proposed-updates en algún servidor ftp, pero no recuerdo cual. De todas formas tienes `http://ftpsearch.ntnu.no/ftpsearch', buscador para archivos en servidores ftp que va de maravilla. Con un simple `wterm*deb' y luego comprovando en los paths que el archivo cuelga de un directorio slink, ya lo tienes. Pués cuando el apt-cache no fulula el siguiente paso es consultar directamente a debian: http://www.debian.org/distrib/packages En la sección Search Package Directories escribes wterm en el campo de Keywords y puedes usar las siguientes opciones de busqueda: Packages names only (si no funciona, después usas Description), all versions y all (releases). El resultado es el siguiente: Search Results QualityPackage (size) unstable100% wterm 6.2.6-9 (44.6k) An rxvt based, color xterm replacement. frozen 100% wterm 6.2.6-8 (44.5k) An rxvt based, color xterm replacement. Como vez está tanto en potato como en woody. Puedes seguir el enlace de frozen que te lleva a una página desde donde puedes bajartelo escogiendo el servidor mas cercano, y después lo instalas con dpkg -i (ya habrás confirmado en la página anterior las dependencias del paquete). Atención que Quality en los resultados de la búsqueda no tiene nada que ver con la calidad del paquete, sino con cuanto se ajusta el resultado de la búsqueda a tu pedido. Saludos, Jaime Villate

Prueba a bajarlo y usar alien --to-deb para ver si te lo convierte a debian correctamente. still trying to compile wterm, i got the two libs that were missing (wmaker and wings). so, i went to wterm's dir and restarted the compile process: configure - ok. make - /usr/bin/ld: cannot open -lXpm: No such file or directory and i have libxpm installed.(xpm4g). can anybody help me ? You probably need to tell it where your libs are. BTW, did you realize there is an wterm package in Incoming directories? Albeit, it is compiled against libc6 2.1, I think it would be easier for you to grab the sources, dsc and diff files from debian mirror and then try to compile it yourself. can anybody help me ?
