xscreensaver without gnome

2000-10-13 Thread Christian Lemer

I would like to run xscreensaver with enlightenment and gdm but without gnome.

I made different trials to run if from my .xsession... but could not
succeed to make it work...

Where should I put the command so that xscreensaver is always active
but in lock mode if logged in and in non-lock mode when gdm is active

In /etc/X11/Xsession:

xscreensaver -nosplash

...though I don't typically use an X display manager, I believe this
will work for you.

xscreensaver and gnome

1999-05-28 Thread Dan Brosemer
Hi, I hope I'm not asking a silly question that could be found out by reading
the docs, but I have a weird situation.

I recently removed my xscreensaver 2.xx that comes with slink and installed
3.12 from sources (I wanted sonar). Now, when I run 'xscreensaver-demo' and
select a particular screensaver, all I ever get is IFS no matter what
screensaver I select. I belive this has to do with my selecting IFS as my
screensaver in gnome-control-center. However, gnome-control-center does not
see any of the new screensavers from the new distribution.

Any ideas how to get gnome-control-center to see the new screensavers and/or
xscreensaver-demo to show the screensaver I click on?

Thanks very much.

-Dano

You seems to want xscreensaver_3.10-1_i386.deb (potato only maybe?); I
can see sonar in my GNOME configuration tool dialogs.

Unfortunately the xscreensaver-gl deb doesn't seem to work with GNOME
yet -- there are some fine screensavers too.
