Você está rodando como root? Tenta como usuário normal.
Algumas rádios não funcionam mesmo. Você conseguiu com
mplayer -playlist http://www.tvcultura.com.br/radiofm/radiofm.asx ?

Me parece que o seu problema é no som, por causa dessas linhas do seu 
mplayer:


Could not open/initialize audio device -> no sound.
Audio: no sound
Video: no video

O comando do fabio (mplayer -playlist 
http://www.tvcultura.com.br/radiofm/radiofm.asx) funciona bem aqui.


A proposito, existem algumas versoes do mplayer pra debian. Qual você 
está usando? Essa opção 'runtime cpu detection' não é das mais 
otimizadas... De repente vale você tentar outras versões.

Bom, tem vários conteúdos diferentes sendo transmitidos online, depende 
de qual deles você quer receber. O realplayer pra linux toca as 
transmissões .rm, que são bem populares. O windows media audio (wma) 
pode ser tocado pelo mplayer (algumas versões) com suporte a streaming. 
Procure no apt-cache o realplayer, e suporte a rtsp.
Uma procurada em plugins para xmms também vale a pena. Me lembro de já 
ter ouvido rádio online com ele.

Eu gostaria de saber o que tenho que fazer p/ ouvir música online.
ex:
Quando entro em rádios online não ouço musica nenhuma,
e no mozilla tem uma opção p/ instalar algo,mais so que redireciona p/ o site da M$.
