Bug#89957: RFA: mpsql -- A graphical frontend for PostgreSQL

2001-03-16 Thread Martin Michlmayr
Package: wnpp

This package has been orphaned for quite a while. The original WNPP
bug was closed in error (and cannot be reopened since it's in the
archive already). See #68054.

Maintainer: Michael Meskes <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
Description: A graphical frontend for PostgreSQL
MPSQL provides users with a graphical SQL interface to PostgresSQL.
MPSQL is similar to Oracle's SQL Worksheet and MS SQL Server's query tool.

| From: Daniel Stone <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

| mpsql has been renamed to kpsql, and is no longer an active project,

Is this a reason to remove mpsql from Debian? Michael, what do you

Hey, now, Josip, let't not jump to conclusions!

There's nothing wrong with my email address.
But there may be something wrong with "master".

As I read the enclosed message, the time delay from generation
("Date" header) to failure ("Delivery-date" header) is about 10 seconds.
This hardly qualifies as "a long failure period".

Methinks the failure lies on the sending side ...

Can't this be done by a 5-line shell script or a 10-line C program? (ie,
do we really need another package, or could it be merged into an existing
package?)

over OpenSSH: one can built it to support Kerberos 5 authentication
and ticket forwarding. (This feature is very useful when connecting
to machines at MIT, particularly given that ssh supports X connection
forwarding and MIT krb5 has no equivalent of Heimdal's kxd.)

I have looked into patches for OpenSSH, but found nothing useful --
not too surprising, given that the authentication types it uses for
Kerberos *4* are the same as the authentication types ssh-nonfree
originally used for krb5. :-/

I'm not an official developer, but would be interested in becoming

2001-03-16 Thread Ben Burton

Hi. Have you (Domenico Andreoli <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>) adopted
package kdesdk? I can't tell; I haven't seen an ITA (which I believe is
procedure for adopting an orphaned package), and I can only see new uploads
by Ivan Moore who afaik is doing NMUs until the package has a new maintainer.

Perhaps I'm missing something here? - anyway, I thought I'd ask.

Anyway, if you're adopting the package could you please change the bug title
to ITA: instead of O: (as according to procedure) just so everything's clear?

Thanks very much,

Ben. :)

It is different from raster graphic packages like gimp, Adobe PhotoShop and
Jasc's PaintShop Pro in that it deals with graphical objects which can be
