Bug#105822: O: lsh

2001-07-18 Thread Joey Hess
Package: wnpp
Version: N/A; reported 2001-07-18
Severity: normal

Orphaning this package since I don't use it (duh) and the joke is rather
old here. Anyone who takes it on should bear in mind that the big
problem with the package is that it has a namespace collision with the
lsh ssh clone. While this is worked around in debian, something really
needs to be done about it one day.

=46rom the manpage:
Swatch is designed to monitor system activity. In order for Swatch to
be useful, it requires a configuration file which contains pattern(s)
to look for and action(s) to perform when each pattern is found.

These actions can include displaying the line in different colours, with
various attributes (reverse video, underlining, etc), or executing arbitrary
programs. It uses perl regular expressions to match lines, which makes it
particularly powerful and intuitive for people already familiar with perl
regular expressions.

I would like to orphan gpsim and associated packages: exdbm, gpsim-led,
gpsim-lcd, gpsim-logic and gpsim-doc because I stopped using the package.
Gpsim has one RC bug, which is easy to fix. In order to maintain it, you
should at least have some electronic knowledge and/or use PIC controllers
now and then.

I don't see much point maintaining this any more, since OpenSSH now
provides both SSH1 & SSH2 and is Free Software.

If someone does feel the need to maintain this, they should probably
look at maintaining the ssh2 package as well, since the only remaining
point of this package might be to provide SSH1 support to supplement the
SSH2 support provided by the non-free ssh2 package.

On the whole, since ssh1 is no longer being actively maintained upstream,
and it's non-free, and ssh2 is even more non-free (to the extent that you
probably won't be able to maintain it unless you are at a site that
has bought a license) I'd like to see both packages withdrawn.

Cheers, Phil.

Bug#94978: task-french into tasksel

2001-07-18 Thread Nicolas SABOURET
I finally included task-french into tasksel.
I wrote a documentation about using and configuring debian for french
users. It should be included into doc-debian-fr.
There is a problem : ispell vs ispell-gut. The maintainer of these
packages is studying the problem.

This bug will thus be closed.

Bug#104322: crash... icons appear

2001-07-18 Thread Bruce Sass
I was logged in as root, playing with themes, styles, etc.
KDE crashed hard enough that I restarted kdm to regain control...
relogged in as root and had icons in the app starter menus and control
center (at least).
