Bug#118427: TP: epo -- Miner mode to reduce the labour to edit code

The GPL doesn't use the term "linking" except when talking about what license the author may want to choose. Anyways: it's legal for elisp code to have a GPL-incompatible license. However, it's not legal to distribute GPLed emacs with such code if that code is intended to be used with emacs to implement some program. -- Raul

Is it even legal for elisp code to have a GPL-incompatible license? Any elisp code uses the emacs builtin functions extensively. These are protected by the GPL. The concept of linking gets very blurry here, too.

It reads .xyz input and can view bond lengths, angles and animations. Export formats are XYZ input and renders atoms, bonds and hydrogen bonds. . Features include: - Animating multiple frame files - Interactive measurement of bond lengths, bond angles and torsion angles - Control over atom/bond sizes - Exporting to Xpm, Encapsulated PostScript and XYZ formats - Toggling the visibility of groups of atoms - Editing the positions of subsets of atoms First of all, is this enumberation style for the Features correct? I always wondered and couln't find information in the policy. Seconds, I plan to split the source into two packages, xmakemol and xmakemol-gl, the latter being the OpenGL enabled version. This is added to the above description for xmakemol-gl: This is the OpenGL-enabled XMakemol package. The images are rendered using true 3D graphics primitives, and can be exported using the Xpm format; red/blue stereo images can also be produced. The OpenGL package provides more display options, along with better support for displaying vectors. Ellipses can also be rendered. Is this a worthwhile thing to do? The package works fine without OpenGL, but it would add some visual improvements. Next, should I rather classify xmakemol in Section: science, viewers or x11? If nobody objects, I will upload to unstable in a couple of days. However, legit users want to be able to relay. If legit users always stayed in one spot, they'd be easy to describe to the daemon. However, what with roving laptops, logins from home, etc., legit users refuse to stay in one spot. pop-before-smtp watches the mail log, looking for successful pop/imap logins, and posts the originating IP address into a database which can be checked by Postfix, to allow relaying for people who have recently downloaded their email. Contrary to other similar tools pop-before-smtp needs no hacking in the mail daemons. On the other hand it requires the pop3/imap daemons to run on the same machine as pop-before-smtp and postfix. Add new tasks to the tasklist as you think of them. The logbook, on the other hand, serves as a project history. When you complete a task, make a log for it in the logbook. Plex86 will run as much of the operating system and application software natively as possible, the rest being emulated by the PC virtualization monitor. A highly visible and often requested use, would be to allow for Windows software to be run inside of GNU/Linux or other UNIX like operating system. This gives users a migration path towards UNIX, allowing them to run legacy software until native ports or alternatives are available. It also provides a transitionary step for software vendors who plan to port their product to UNIX, but have not yet done so. Users could buy the Windows version product and run it at near native speeds on UNIX, using Plex86, until a UNIX native version is ready. By virtue of Plex86 being an open source project right from day one, Plex86 can also be an extremely useful tool for operating systems development, debugging, instrumentation and profiling. Many compile and run time options can be added, such that more control of the software being run inside the Plex86 environment can be offered to an OS developer, for instance. This will provide much more flexibility and control than is offered in a commercial product where you do not have access to the source code, such as VMware. Bug#118336: ITP: dbbalancer -- Database Pooling and Load Sharing
Package: wnpp Version: N/A; reported 2001-11-05 Severity: wishlist DBBalancer provides connection pooling, load balancing and replication facilities for your PostgreSQL database. Upstream Author : Daniel Varela Santoalla <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> URL : http://dbbalancer.sourceforge.net/ License : GPL I have produced pre-release packages which are available on Sourceforge and which work with potato, sid and woody (built as a static binary). I am currently testing these in a 'more or less' production environment and if things don't get too exciting this week I expect to release non-static packages into Debian unstable at around 0.4.2 or 0.5.0 (whichever comes first!) within the month. DBBalancer CCurrently only supports the PostgreSQL database, but any MySQL (or other DB) guru could readily muck in there and introduce support for some other database - the C++ code appears nicely modular in that regard. -- System Information Debian Release: testing/unstable Architecture: i386 Kernel: Linux kant.mcmillan.net.nz 2.4.4-win4lin-kant #1 Tue Jun 26 21:58:47 NZST 2001 i686 Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=
