Thanks for your email.
I've been very inactive with FCPtools of late.
Maintenance has been taken over by Jay Oliveri
(Jay Oliveri <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>), who is doing an excellent job with
tidying up, autotooling etc.

Please liase with Jay, but I'd be grateful if you can keep me
in the loop.

Source has been moved under the Freenet project CVS, which you can
browse at
http://cvs.sourceforge.net/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/freenet/Contrib/fcptools/

If I can be of any help, please let me know.

Lastly, are you targetting it just for Debian Unstable, or are there
plans for it to move to Debian Stable in due course?

Regards
David

Bug#136844: comments on your ARM emulator

2002-03-04 Thread Robert Millan

Hello!

I've been looking at your ARM emulator, which seems very nice.
Really impressed by the speed, it's relatively fast when
compared to other (i386) emulators like plex86 and bochs.

I'm currently creating debian packages of it, would you like
arcem to be included in the debian distribution?

If your program is included in debian, you'll benefit from
some useful feedback, including bug reports and (sometimes)
patches.

Looking forward for your response, please keep the CC to
[EMAIL PROTECTED] in your message.

Thanks,

Bug#136844: ITP: arcem -- ARM emulator

2002-03-04 Thread Robert Millan

Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

URL: ftp://ftp.arm.uk.linux.org/pub/linux/arcem/
License: GPL

Arcem is a register level emulator of the Acorn Archimedes A4x0 system
based around the ARM microprocessor.

It is able to boot ARM GNU/Linux in an X window. It is based on the GPL'd
release of the ARM emulator core by ARM Ltd, although this has been heavily
modified for the emulation. It is a reasonably accurate register level
emulation and as such should run pretty much anything.

Bug#136833: ITP: hello-dbs -- GNU hello packaged with DBS

2002-03-04 Thread Tollef Fog Heen

Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

I intend to package hello-dbs, an example of using DBS -- doogie's
build system. This is meant as an example package, like hello and
hello-debhelper.

Package: hello-dbs
Priority: extra
Section: devel
Maintainer: Tollef Fog Heen <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
Description: The classic greeting, and a good example
The GNU hello program produces a familiar, friendly greeting. It
allows nonprogrammers to use a classic computer science tool which
would otherwise be unavailable to them.
 .
Seriously, though: this is an example of how to do a Debian package.
It is the Debian version of the GNU Project's `hello world' program
(which is itself an example for the GNU Project).
 .
This is the same as the hello package, except it uses DBS to
make the deb. Please see DBS as to what it is.

Bug#136816: ITP: gnome-lokkit -- basic interactive firewall configuration tool for console and GNOME

2002-03-04 Thread Chris Lawrence
Package: wnpp
Version: N/A; reported 2002-03-04
Severity: wishlist

* License : GPL or X Window System
Description : basic interactive firewall configuration tool

The gnome-lokkit package contains a utility which attempts to provide
firewalling for the average Linux end user. Instead of having to
configure firewall rules, gnome-lokkit asks a small number of simple
questions and writes a firewall rule set for you.

Gnome-lokkit is not designed to configure arbitary firewalls. To make
it simple to understand, it is solely designed to handle typical
dialup user and cable modem setups. It will not provide a complex
firewall configuration, and it is not the equal of an expert firewall
designer.

There is also a console version of lokkit included in the sources.

Bug#136736: O: host -- Utility for Querying DNS Servers

2002-03-04 Thread Bdale Garbee
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

This package provides the NIKHEF version of the program 'host'. When I
adopted the bind packages a long time ago, a previous maintainer had picked
up this version of 'host' and folded it into the bind source tree so that it
would be part of the 'dnsutils' binary package. When BIND 9.X was released
and I restructured the BIND packaging, I broke this out as a separate package.

More recently, I've created the package bind9-host to deliver the version of
'host' that comes with the BIND 9.X source from the ISC. The two versions of
host have similar but different options. I prefer the one from the ISC
because it works better for me than this one.

The NIKHEF version was last released upstream in 1999. It has a number of
open bugs, some of which I think will be difficult to resolve. Please be sure
to have a look at the open bugs in the BTS and the sourcecode to the package
before you decide to adopt this one...

This is a bad description. The first line of the description should be
a full sentence which concisely summarizes the package, and it should
not end in a period. The rest of the description could contain fewer
excalamation points, and need not mention Linux or Windows (since a
Debian user already knows it's available for them). How about this:

Description: Interactive flight simulator and real-time strategy game
Vega Strike is an interactive 3D OpenGL based flight simulator and
real-time strategy game. Its features include stunning graphics,
over 100 star systems, sound effects, a programmable AI, and a mission
