Thomas Hood <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> cum veritate scripsit: > The name of this package has been provisionally changed > to pm-base. Unless someone suggests something better, > that's what we'll use. Why does it need to be abbreviated ? Is "powermanagement-base" not an option? If it's a package that normal users won't install directly, it won't cause too much trouble, even if the package name is longish. "pm" reminds me too much of "perl modules". And this can potentially give people similar confusion to that psmisc and psutils are giving. regards, junichi -- [EMAIL PROTECTED] : Junichi Uekawa http://www.netfort.gr.jp/~dancer GPG Fingerprint : 17D6 120E 4455 1832 9423 7447 3059 BF92 CD37 56F4

Bug#138039: O: gide -- Gnome Integrated Develoment Environment
Package: wnpp Version: N/A; reported 2002-03-12 Severity: normal I intend to orphan the gide package. The package description is: gIDE is meant to aid users with development work. It provides an editor with syntax hilightlighting, a rudimentary project/build system and an interface to the gdb debugger. The functionality can be extended with plugins that create various tools. . This is a development version. I know gide will be replaced with Anjuta2, but now, apt-get install gide tells dependency problems - gide depends on libgal18, but it is not installable. Matti, please tell me, if you are interested in maintaining the package. If not you should change the ITP to RFP to let somebody else step in. I definitely do not want to add a further game to the list of the packages maintained by myself to save my limited spare time for Debian-Med. But in case you lost interest I would just check the package of Klaus, do a (perhaps cleaned up) upload and would immediately orphan the package. Thus would enable users and developers to have a look at the package and it is funny enough that anybody would be interested in taking it over. Kind regards Andreas.

The software is written in Java and it is free (refer to the GNU general public license). It has been run successfully with Java 1.1.6 and 1.2.x on different flavours of Unix and Win32. If you use kaffe, make sure that you have at least version 1.0.5 (out since October 18th, 1999) and use at least version 0.7.1 of PPower4. The Java part works with kaffe and it's even possible to compile it with gcj (not fully testet). This would make it possible to include it into main - if there wasn't the dependency of the LaTeX files on foiltex which means that it has to go into contrib. :-(

Bug#111182: ITP: imaze
Hello, at http://bugs.debian.org/82 you inteded to package imaze 189 days ago. Are there any problems in packaging the game? Do you need any help in packaging? I'm interested in this game and Klaus Knopper, the developer of the great Knoppix Live-CD (just have a look at it - it is worth the effort) does include it on its Debian based life CDs. I think we could take some workload from Klaus if your packaging would step foreward. Kind regards Andreas.

Maybe it's just me, but please don't package stuff until at least Beta (unless it is _badly_ needed or something).. Alpha is too early IMO considering the large number of packages already avaialble. Anyway, please make sure that it at least work :) - Adam
