And on that note: Bochs runs on just about anything...
License is LGPL, though the VGA BIOS situation is identical (elpin,
free to distribute with bochs), so it'll be non-free probably...

seems rather silly to package two copies of the same bios, though.
Maybe elpin could be persuaded to switch to a better non-free license,
so we only need one copy of the VGA BIOS in the archive, and these packages
could both go into contrib.

Package description:
Microwindows is an Open Source project aimed at bringing the features of
modern graphical windowing environments to smaller devices and platforms.
Microwindows allows applications to be built and tested on the Linux desktop,
as well as cross-compiled for the target device. Microwindows' genesis
was with the NanoGUI project, and has now been combined into a single
distribution. The Win32/WinCE API implementation is known as Microwindows,
and the Xlib-like API implementation is known as Nano-X.

Non-windowmanager with windowmanager functionality

nawm is not a window manager. It has a powerful configuration
language for using windowmanager-like functionality. Because it is
not a windowmanager, nawm can be run along side you existing
windowmanager. Great for making up for missing functionality without
having to change to a whole new windowmanager.

Description : experiment with the OpenGL lighting model
lightlab lets you set the colours and positions of several light sources,
and then watch the effect that it has on a simple 3D scene. You can select
wether the scene contains a rotating cube, sphere, or teapot, and wether
that object has a texture image on its surface.
 .
lightlab is not a modelling program; it doesn't even let you save anything.
But if you're having trouble wrapping your brain around the various
parameters you can set in OpenGL code, you may find it helpful.

Description : An implementation of the WHOSON protocol
   Quoting 'README':
This software is supposed to work as a "reference
implementation" of the suggested "whoson" internet protocol.
The protocol is expected to be employed on "spam relay
protected" mail servers to allow travelling customers still
send their email via the protected server. For this, a
realtime database of "temporarily trusted" IP addresses is
maintained by a special daemon program. The database may be
filled by, e.g. POP/IMAP servers, and used by SMTP server.
Another possible use of the protocol is to have the database
filled by RADIUS/TACACS server for all dialup clients, and
SMTP server using it to put the user identity into the
"Received" header along with the source IP address.

This package provides the NIKHEF version of the program 'host'. When I
adopted the bind packages a long time ago, a previous maintainer had picked
up this version of 'host' and folded it into the bind source tree so that it
would be part of the 'dnsutils' binary package. When BIND 9.X was released
and I restructured the BIND packaging, I broke this out as a separate package.

More recently, I've created the package bind9-host to deliver the version of
'host' that comes with the BIND 9.X source from the ISC. The two versions of
host have similar but different options. I prefer the one from the ISC
because it works better for me than this one.

The NIKHEF version was last released upstream in 1999. It has a number of
open bugs, some of which I think will be difficult to resolve. Please be sure
to have a look at the open bugs in the BTS and the sourcecode to the package
before you decide to adopt this one...

Size: 22314
MD5sum: b23e8e443cb2a77cda24f62220402319
Description: shared library for GIF images (runtime lib)
This is a shared library for working with GIF images.
 .
The Graphics Interchange Format(c) specification is the copyrighted
property of CompuServe Incorporated. Unfortunately, it used LZW
compression for compressed GIFs, which is covered by a patent held
by Unisys. As this package existed before UniSys's lawyeritis attack
of New Years' Day 1995, it is grandfathered in under their license
terms and you do not have to pay fees for using it.
 .
Alternatively, you may choose to install the libungif package which
is available in the main Debian distribution. The libungif package
is a variant of giflib with the offending patented LZW compression
code snipped out, so it can only save uncompressed GIFs.

Size: 2063802
MD5sum: 6835bcc59b3fccad7f51e6b238a2e39b
Description: Automatic screensaver for X
The purpose of xscreensaver is to display pretty pictures on your screen
when it is not in use, in keeping with the philosophy that unattended
monitors should always be doing something interesting, just like they do
 in the movies.
 .
The benefit that this program has over the combination of the xlock and
xautolock programs is the ease with which new graphics hacks can be
installed: you don't need to recompile this program to add a new display
mode, you just change some resource settings. Any program which can be
invoked in such a way that it draws on the root window of the screen can
now be used as a screensaver without modification. The programs that
are being run as screensavers don't need to have any special knowledge
about what it means to be a screensaver.
