Guessing from the description I consider this tool as a more
featureful and actively developed CD burning tool
compared with those available with Debian.

Kind regards

also, the main reason why i want it packaged is so that it does not
conflict with mail-transfer-agent since it's mainly used aside a real
MTA...

no, the actual feature that i needed when i found it was to have it
filter through a custom program before SMTP'ing the message on. that
way you can hook any custom filter into postfix, for instance. it can

from the webpage:

E-MailRelay is a simple SMTP store-and-forward message transfer
agent (MTA). It runs as an SMTP server, storing e-mail in a local
spool directory, and then forwarding the stored messages to
a downstream SMTP server on request. It can also run as a proxy
server, forwarding (and optionally pre-processing) e-mail as soon as
it is received. It does not do any message routing, other than to
a local postmaster. Because of this functional simplicity it is
extremely easy to configure, typically only requiring the address of
the downstream SMTP server to be put on the command line.

Description : GNU Paint - a small, easy to use paint program for GNOME
GNU Paint is a small-scale painting program for GNOME,
the GNU Desktop Environment. gpaint does not attempt to compete with
GIMP, it is just a simple drawing package based on xpaint, along the
lines of 'Paintbrush' from a popular non-free operating system.
 .
Currently gpaint has the following features:
   * Drawing tools such as ovals, freehand, polygon and text, with
fill or shadow for polygons and closed freehand shapes.
   * Cut and paste by selecting irregular regions or polygons.
   * Preliminary print support using gnome-print.
   * Modern, ease-to-use user interface with tool and color palettes.
   * Multiple-image editing in a single instance of the program.
   * All the image processing features present in xpaint.

This package is going to replace kernel-patch-lpp-640x480 and
kernel-patch-lpp-1024x768, as it provides a way to choose the
 resolution through make [x|menu]config.

 Which architectures provide framebuffer drivers?
According to linux/drivers/video/Config.in there doesn't seem to be
an architecture restriction, thus architecture "any" - but I have
been told e.g. Alpha doesn't support framebuffer. IMHO this should
still be architecture any, as it's just VESA-Framebuffers that are
 only supported by i386...?

This patch adds the Linux Progress Patch option to the Linux kernel.
The Linux Progress Patch is a kernel patch which displays a
full-screen logo with a progress bar and some informational text
while booting. It hides the normal startup messages printed by the
kernel, and is meant for people that don't care about boot messages.

It is based on the original LPP by Cajus Pollmeier
 <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> available at http://lpp.freelords.org

The theme I created looks about like this:
 http://people.debian.org/~gordon/lpp.jpg

 Preliminary debs are available at:

 License is GPLv2

This patch enables a preemptible kernel. It adds a far greater degree of
real-time responsiveness to the standard Linux kernel, by reducing interrupt
latencies while kernel functions are executing.

Version 20020301 is available from:
http://www.tech9.net/rml/linux/

The patch is released under the the GNU General Public License Version 2.

I'm currently following the Debian New Maintainer process (waiting DAM
approval). I have already done a package for this patch, it is available at
http://www.aurel32.net/linux/packages.php3
I'm looking for somebody to sponsor it.

gpaint was already packaged but removed from Debian because (#117074):

<--  snip  -->

Please remove gpaint from the archive. Upstream is dead, it doesn't
build, and generally sucks.

<--  snip  -->

Whether it "generally sucks" is IMHO a personal opinion but there's now a
new upstream version that claims "to work with the GNOME 1.4 platform".

Description: GNU Paint - a small, easy to use paint program for GNOME
This is gpaint (GNU Paint), a small-scale painting program for GNOME,
the GNU Desktop Environment. gpaint does not attempt to compete with
GIMP, it is just a simple drawing package based on xpaint, along the
lines of 'Paintbrush' from a popular non-free operating system.

  Description : A trash can LD_PRELOADed library

I haven't seen an ITP for this around, so if no one else is working on
it or wants it more than me, I intend packaging libtrash.
My only hesitation is the legal status of this - libtrash uses a
LD_PRELOAD trick to intercept calls to unlink () (and other calls such
as rename(), fopen() et al), and would normally be inserted into
/etc/ld.so.preload. How does this sit legally if other programs (many of
which will not be GPL licensed, some of which will be non-free) will be
using the library through the LD_PRELOAD trick? Does this create a
license conflict with the GPL? I assume that if the license was LGPL,
there would be no problem with this ... am I correct to believe this?

Cheers,

Timshel

KSimus is an application for simulating networks with boolean data type.
Analog string and some more data types are planned. Currently there exists
only a few boolean components, but because of the modular character of
KSimus extensions are easy to develop.

Description : utility to search Google via your Gnome panel

This is very simple and very handy utility that just spawns the
configured GNOME browser with a Google search on whatever you have in
the X clipboard. It's not even an applet, just a program with a
launcher that's nice to put on the panel.

Rob

Description : Scan devices on Apple ADB bus

I would like to package lsadb for debian. Its a small utility which
accomplishes the following: (from the README)

lsadb is a small utility to scan the devices on the ADB-Bus and
print out some information about the devices found.

This tool is not very usefull on computers without an ADB-Bus.
That are mostly Apple Macintosh Computers.

I'm no longer very interested in this package for 2 reasons. Firstly, it is
incredibly complex. Secondly, the drivers included in the kernel support
prism2, the only difference being their lack of support for WEP (which, I'm
told is useless anyway).

I'd be happy to send you the packages I have created (for 0.1.10), if you'd
like. Feel free to take over the ITP.
