bandwidth limitation is only an addon, it's also a tcp proxy like
yours... mine can't be run from inetd, but it features it's own daemon
mode, which i'd prefer over inetd.

anyway, i don't want to discourage you from packaging, i simply try to
guard against debian overload...

please check bug #111314 and assess whether that package is necessary.
granted, i am taking a long time to upload this, but the package is
ready and i have just become a maintainer and simply don't know
exactly how to upload yet...

Bug#144787: ITP: mkdecbootcd - A tool for making CDs bootable on DECstations

2002-04-27 Thread Karsten Merker
Package: wnpp
Version: N/A; reported 2002-04-27
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: mkdecbootcd
  Version : 0.1
  Upstream Author : Karsten Merker, <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
* URL :
http://people.debian.org/~merker/experimental_packages/mkdecbootcd-0.1/
* License : GPL
* Description : A tool for making CDs bootable on DECstations

 mkdecbootcd generates the bootsector that is required to boot a Linux
 kernel from CD on a DECstation (Debian/mipsel).
 You can think of mkdecbootcd as a rough equivalent to lilo on i386,
 just with the difference that its target is a DECstation instead of
 a PC and that it builds bootsectors for CDROMs instead of harddisks.

Karsten

  Description : Extensible User Folder -- user authentication, properties
and sessions
exUserFolder (sometimes called XUF) is an extensible authentication
product for the Zope Application Server. It allows you to choose from
a number of methods of authenticating your zope application users, and
allows the setting and fetching of arbitrary properties on User
objects.
.
Authentication methods and Property methods do not have to use the
same backing store, so it is possible to use legacy user sources, and
still have configuration information stored about a user.
.
exUserFolder supports HTTP Basic Authentication and the so-called
Cookie Authentication schemes popular with most webservers.
.
exUserFolder can also be used for user session tracking, relying on
its user credential cache with a reasonably long expiry length.

Bug#144745: ITP: pyxmms-remote -- A command-line interface to XMMS

2002-04-27 Thread Florent Rougon
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: pyxmms-remote
  Version : 1.04-4
  Upstream Author : [EMAIL PROTECTED]
* URL : http://www.via.ecp.fr/~flo/
* License : GPL
  Description : A command-line interface to XMMS

 PyXMMS-remote allows you to control (or start, or terminate) an XMMS
 session from your shell's command-line (or a program, or a MIME-aware
 application, or whatever you want).

 There are a lot of queries and actions you can perform with PyXMMS-remote.
 Here are some examples: play or pause the current playlist entry, stop
 playing, jump to a playlist entry, add files or URLs to the playlist, get
 or set the volume, balance or the equalizer settings, toggle the main or
 playlist window, end the XMMS session...

 PyXMMS-remote is written in the Python programming language and uses
 (through PyXMMS, packaged as python-xmms for Debian), the xmms_remote_*
 functions provided by the libxmms library, hence its name.

Actually, the packaging is already done. I wasn't sure I had to bother
WNPP about this, but I do think so now.

2002-04-27 Thread Harald Dunkel

Package: wnpp
Version: N/A
Severity: wishlist

Hi folks,

There are a lot of CVS snapshots, experimantal versions or even
pre-beta software in Sid. No problem with me. But whats about
gcc 3.1? Its just a few days till gcc 3.1 will be released, so
IMHO its overdue to add it to Sid.

Regards

Harri

I looked at the wnpp bug list, the wnpp webpage and search debian-devel

Bug#144739: ITP: xbattbar -- Show battery status in X Window

2002-04-27 Thread Thomas Seyrat
Package: wnpp
Version: N/A; reported 2002-04-27
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: xbattbar
  Version : 1.4.2
  Upstream Author : Suguru Yamaguchi
* URL : http://iplab.aist-nara.ac.jp/member/suguru/xbattbar.html
* License : GPL
  Description : Show battery status in X Window

 Xbattbar shows the current (laptop) battery status in the X window
 environment. Battery status is obtained through the APM interface.
 .
 The battery indicator of this program is very simple: a simple bar in
 the top/bottom of your display. With its color, it indicates the
 AC-line status (plugged in or off-line), and buttery charging/remaining
 level. Also, in the case the mouse cursor enters to the indicator
 window, the popup diagnosis window comes up in the center of your
 display, and then, it shows the current AC line status and battery
 level in the popup window.
 .
 This program is very small but fancy.

2002-04-27 Thread OHASHI Akira
Package: wnpp
Version: N/A; reported 2002-04-27
Severity: wishlist

Hi,

I intend to package lsdb.

* Package name: lsdb
  Version : 0.1
  Upstream Author : Daiki Ueno <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
* URL : http://deisui.bug.org/~ueno/emacs-lisp/lsdb-0.1.tar.gz

  Description : The Lovely Sister Database (email rolodex) for Emacs

LSDB (The Lovely Sister Database) is a rolodex-like database program
for SEMI based MUA. It's intended to be a lightweight relacement for
BBDB (The Insidious Big Brother Database). Unfortunately, it
currently doesn't support the all features of BBDB.

Regards,
