This module implements a least recently used (LRU) cache in memory
through a tie interface. Any time data is stored in the tied hash, that
key/value pair has an entry time associated with it, and as the cache
fills up, those members of the cache that are the oldest are removed to
make room for new entries.

So, the cache only remembers the last written entries, up to the size
of the cache. This can be especially useful if you access great amounts
of data, but only access a minority of the data a majority of the time.

The libtie-cache-perl package is used by mooix and libapache-asp-perl.

Bug#112753: About giFT

 Hi,

I've seen that you sent an ITP for maintaining giFT. I wonder if you
still intend to package it for Debian because you sent the ITP many
days ago and there still is no giFT package in Debian... I'm
interested in maintaining giFT but I'm not yet a Debian Developer and
I don't want to steal you job.

 Keep me informed.

 Cheers,
 Alexis

Sorry for the delay in replying - just got back from the UKUUG Linux
Developer conference in Bristol. Yes, I am still doing this - I have
made packages. What I am waiting for is a release, because until then
the code base changes too fast, and stripped binary packages in Debian
will cause backwards (in)compatibility problems with the existing
network (and/or they would need to be updated infeasibly often) or they
would cause many bugs to be reported which were either fixed, or would
be impossible to diagnose due to the lack of debugging symbols. I may
set up a daily snapshot deb build system in a week or two, until then
you'll just have to be patient. For now I'm off to Edinburgh for 4
days...

Regards,
Rob

Wmmemmon is a dockapp which shows the memory and swap usages of the
local host. It does so in a very graphical way, emulating the same somewhat
retro LCD look, used by other dockapps such as wmmemload, wmlongrun and
wmcpuload.

IDS/A is a combined system logger, reference monitor, and intrusion
detection system for applications. It makes it possible not only to
monitor but also adjust application activity. Features include a
powerful logging component and an extensible and modular access
control subsystem which can driven by misuse signatures, anomaly
detection modules, or even a human operator.

This package is a lazyness package because it just makes live easier
when packaging new med-* packages. Perhaps this will also encourage
other people to build meta-packages if there are easy to use templates
where only the packages, the meta package is depending from, to insert
into the right place.

Description : Debian-Med internal project common package

This package provides some files which are common to all med-* packages.
Moreover it introduces a method to handle system users in a group
med (easily adaptable to junior by setting view variables) using
debconf. This could be valuable for other internal projects.

I will upload new med-* packages which will use med-common soon -
perhaps before med-common will enter the Debian archive because
I will have vacations and want to let users play with this stuff
over this time. Please stay tuned with bug-reports of type
Can't install med-* because of missing dependency from med-common.
It will at least be in incoming before any med-* will depend from
it.

I plan to package Subversion URL: http://subversion.tigris.org

The goal of subversion is to build a version control system that could
replace cvs. It will have all the features of CVS and rename of files
and directories, permisions and other meta information and symbolic
links. A lot of other features is mentioned on the above website.

Subversion is licensed under an Apache/BSD-style license.

I havn't tried it yet. But if it keeps half it's promises it's worth
tho work.

I can't find it in the archive or at the wnpp bug page. So it
shouldn't be ITP'ed yet.

To my amazement, I find no mention of subversion either in the wnpp

Of course, BenC will now bounce on my head about why that's a
tremendously bad idea, or how he's already planning to package
subversion or something, but that's OK :)

Bug#152199: ITP: cwi-xt -- Bundle of CWI tools

2002-07-07 Thread Julien LEMOINE
Package: wnpp
Version: N/A; reported 2002-07-07
Severity: wishlist

cwi tools are a set of packages from Centrum voor Wiskunde en
Informatica(www.cwi.nl),
it includes metapackage cwi-xt and metapackage 0cwi-stratego.

packages list (classified by priority) :

Package name: cwi-aterm

Upstream Authors: Pieter Olivier [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Description : Data type (Tree) for exchange in distributed
applications
ATerm (short for Annotated Term) is an abstract data type designed
for the exchange of tree-like data structures between distributed
 applications.
 .
The ATerm library forms a comprehensive procedural interface which
enables creation and manipulation of ATerms in C.
The ATerm implementation is based on maximal subterm sharing and
 automatic garbage collection.
 .
A binary exchange format for the concise representation of ATerms
(sharing preserved) allows the fast exchange of ATerms between
applications. In a typical application---parse trees which contain
considerable redundant information---less than 2 bytes are needed to
represent a node in memory, and less than 2 bits are needed to represent
it in binary format. The implementation of ATerms scales up to the
manipulation of ATerms in the giga-byte range.

Description : Librairies and Parse Tools for the parser tree format
AsFix2
This package provides a typed C interface for the construction and
manipulation of parse trees. This interface is based on the cwi_aterm
library. Part of it is generated automatically and another part is
 written by hand.
 .
Among others, this package provides tools for unparsing and
visualization of parse trees. There are also library functions and
tools for flattening lexicals, lists and layout. AsFix2 with
flattened lexicals, lists and layout is called AsFix2Me. This is the
parse tree format that is used in the MetaEnvironment.

Package name: cwi-sglr
Version : 3.7
Url :
http://www.cwi.nl/projects/MetaEnv/sglr/sglr-3.7.tar.gz
Build-depends : cwi-pt-support
Upstream Authors: Jeroen Scheerder [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Licence : GPL
Description : A scannerless generalized LR parser
The SGLR parser interprets parse tables generated by the
ParsetableGenerator from an SDF2 syntax definition. The parser
outputs parse trees or parse forests. Scannerless means that no
scanner is used to tokenize the input stream. SGLR takes characters
as tokens and uses a parse table that contains enough information for
both the lexical and the context-free syntax. Generalized means that
the parser finds all possible derivations for a certain input string.
 .
The effect is that an SGLR parser does not complain about conflicts
 in the parse table.

  Description : Gerris Flow Solver

Gerris is an Open Source Free Software library for the solution of the
partial differential equations describing fluid flow. The source code is
available free of charge under the Free Software GPL license.

Gerris is supported by NIWA (National Institute of Water and Atmospheric
research) and by the Marsden Fund of the Royal Society of New Zealand.

The code is written entirely in C and uses both the GLib Library and the
GTS Library for geometrical functions and object-oriented programming.

A brief summary of its main (current) features:

* The same code base can be compiled either with 2D or 3D support.
* Quadtree-based (Octree in 3D) spatial discretisation with
automatic (and possibly dynamic) local refinement.
* Multigrid Poisson solver.
* Second-order Godunov type advection scheme.
* Solves the time-dependent incompressible Euler equations.
* Support for complex solid boundaries (automatic locally-refined
  mesh generation).
* Flexible object-oriented specification of boundary conditions.
* Portable parallel support using the MPI library.

This is the library used by the Mozilla browser (and other projects as well)
to provide JavaScript 1.5 support. The library is an embeddable, thread safe
interpreter with C bindings. It is distributed under the NPL/MPL license and
can be downloaded from the http://www.mozilla.org/js/spidermonkey/ page
(actually, right now the only version that makes sense to use seems to be in
the CVS).

The debs are already available at

deb http://debian.vip.net.pl/other unstable main

I have taken the liberty to change the name of the .so and .a libraries so
that any possible name conflict is resolved beforehand.

integrated banner ad system, search engine, backend/headlines
generation (RSS/RDF format), Web directory like Yahoo, events manager,
and support for 20+ languages.

  Description : A HTML::Template class for Ruby

This implements a HTML::Template class similar to Perl's one. Its
main goal is to implement a complete selectivity between design
and logic easily. The HTML files are known as templates with
prospective variables to be replaced by their values by the Ruby
CGI script. Also, you can deal with a nested block, a loop and a
 conditional expression.

This is a very powerful (and simple) package that I am using
 lately and can easily maintain.

Description : Perl modules for managing collections of SAX processors

These modules provide a collection of APIs that allow complex SAX
machines to be constructed without a huge amount of extra typing.

SAX machines are a way to gather and manage SAX processors without
going nuts. Or at least without going completely nuts. Individual
machines can also be like SAX processors; they don't need to parse or
write anything:

  my $w = XML::SAX::Writer-new( Output = \*STDOUT );
  my $m = Pipeline( My::Filter1, My::Filter2, { Handler = $w } );
  my $p = XML::SAX::ParserFactory-new( handler = $p );

MLS is a commonly used acronym which is about to become more common with it's
use in systems such as NSA SE Linux. Perhaps it would be less confusing if
 you choose a different name...

I would be happy to do so. The package has already been accepted into
the Debian archive. If you think it is important, I can ask the
ftp-master to revoke the package and rename it.
