  Description : Dance Dance Revolution simulator

 PyDDR is a simulator of the popular arcade game Dance Dance Revolution,
 in which you must step on particular arrows on the floor in time with
 music playing in the background. Most of the features of the proprietary
 versions are supported, including multiple difficulty levels, background
 images and movies, lyrics, and freeze arrows. PyDDR also supports
 making your own step patterns for music using the step file format,
 and some home DDR mats using Playstation to PC joystick adapters. If you
 lack a mat, you can also try playing on the keyboard.
 .
 This package includes one song written by the author, called '6th,
 January', and a step file to go with it.

For initial versions of this package, there will be a kernel module
included as source, for most parallel mats (the package is going to be
interesting enough to tackle initially, and I don't want to try and do
too much at once). Later I'll package a ddrmat-module-source for it.

If any DDR players (I know there's some out there) want to give me a
suggestion for a better description of the game, I'd appreciate it.

  Description : Portable Regular Express Library for Common Lisp

CL-PPCRE is a portable regular expression library for Common Lisp
which has the following features:

* It is compatible with Perl. (Well - as far as you can be compatible
with a language defined by its ever-changing
implementation. Currently, as of December 2002, CL-PPCRE is more
compatible with the regex semantics of Perl 5.8.0 than, say, Perl
5.6.1 is...:) It even correctly parses and applies Jeffrey Friedl's
famous 6600-byte long RFC822 address pattern.

* It is fast. If compiled with CMUCL it outperforms Perl's highly
optimized regex engine (written in C) which to my knowledge is faster
than most other regex engines around. If compiled with CLISP it is
still comparable to CLISP's own regex implementation which is also
written in C.

* It is portable, i.e. the code aims to be strictly ANSI-compliant. If
you encounter any deviations this is an error and should be reported
to [EMAIL PROTECTED]

pv (Pipe Viewer) can be inserted into any normal pipeline between two processes
to give a visual indication of how quickly data is passing through, how long it
has taken, how near to completion it is, and an estimate of how long it will be
until completion.
.
To use it, insert it in a pipeline between two processes, with the appropriate
options. Its standard input will be passed through to its standard output and
progress will be shown on standard error.

PS: maybe it should be called pipe-viewer or pipeviewer ?

Hi all,
Due to crypto-in-main, kde{libs,base}-crypto being a separate source
package is now entirely unnecessary, and the crypto has been merged back
in to the mainline packages in KDE 3.1, which will enter sid during the
gcc3.2 transition. Because of this, these WNPP bugs are irrelevant, and
I'm closing them. I'll file a bug on ftp-master.d.o for their removal
when KDE 3.1 enters the archive.

Cheers!

(Shit, should make a form letter for this).

Hi all,
kinkatta has not been ported to KDE3, and no-one is interested in
adopting it. The KDE-recommended client of choice for KDE3 is Kopete,
which will enter the archive with KDE 3.1 as soon as the gcc3.2
transition starts. I'm closing this WNPP bug as it's irrelevant, and
will file a bug on ftp-master.d.o to get it removed when needed.

Cheers!

Hi all,
c-cpp-reference will be removed from the archive soon, due to changes in
the way KDevelop is changed; thus, this WNPP bug is irrelevant.

Cheers!

Bug#111658: Disappearing with KDE3?

2002-12-22 Thread Daniel Stone
Hi all,
As far as I'm aware, knapster2 has not been ported to KDE3. KDE 3.1 will
be uploaded when the gcc3.2 transition starts, and thus must be removed
from the archive if there is no current KDE3 port. Can someone please
clarify the status of this package?

Thanks,
Daniel, sometime KDE package monkey

2002-12-22 Thread Stefan Schwandter
Package: wnpp

* Package name: gtkglext
  Version : 0.6.1
  Upstream Author : Naofumi Yasufuku [EMAIL PROTECTED]

  Description : OpenGL Extension to GTK

GtkGLExt provides the GDK objects to support OpenGL rendering in GTK,

clisp has problems building on several architectures, and needs a lot of
work. I took it over because there was a new upstream release after a long
period of dormancy, and I had hoped that I could resolve these issues.
I repackaged it from scratch to clean things up, but the code itself is huge
and difficult to manage over my new low-bandwidth connection.

Some of the portability problems are on architectures where it can be
difficult to arrange for an account and to build such a large package (like
m68k and arm), so be warned.

This package needs a maintainer with time, bandwidth and a passion for LISP.

I request an adopter for the whizzytex package.
The package description is:
 WhizzyTeX is an emacs minor mode for incrementally
 (TeXing and) previewing a LaTeX file that you are editing.
 .
 It works with ghostview-based and xdvi-based previewers,
 but best visual effect and more options will be available
 if you use the advi previewer.

I don't really have time for maintaining this package as has been shown
by two bugs which have hit me lately. Also, this package works mostly
with emacs, and i am not an emacs user, so maybe am i not really the
best person for packaging this, altough i have good contact with
upstream.

Anyway, i will continue maintaining this package as i can until someone
comes and adopt it.

Bug#173984: ITP: kernel-image-speakup-i386 -- Precompiled speakup Linux Kernel

2002-12-22 Thread Mario Lang
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: kernel-image-speakup-i386
  Version : 2.4.20
  Upstream Author : Kirk Reiser and Andy Berdan
* URL : http://www.linux-speakup.org/speakup.html
* License : GPL
  Description : Precompiled speakup Linux Kernel

I plan to provide a speakup-enabled kernel in Debian. All the
required work is already done. Since this is my first kernel related
work, I CC'ed this to debian-devel in case anyone does have suggestions
or objections to this.

speakup is a kernel patch which extends linux such that you can use
the keyboard and a external or internal hardware speech synthesizer to read
the console screen contents. The only thing which needs to be
set is the synthesizer to be used, which is done via a kernel boot
option. As soon as the kernel starts to initialize, your speech
synth should immediately start talking, giving you full control over
very low-level aspects of system-administration.

If no one objects, I plan to upload this next year.

Following is the debian/control file I plan to use:

Source: kernel-image-speakup-i386
Section: devel
Priority: optional
Maintainer: Mario Lang [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Standards-Version: 3.5.8
Build-Depends: debhelper, modutils, kernel-source-2.4.20, kernel-package (=
7.41), tar (= 1.13.18), kernel-patch-speakup

Package: kernel-headers-2.4.20-speakup
Architecture: any
Section: devel
Priority: optional
Depends: fileutils (= 4.0)
Provides: kernel-headers
Description: Header files related to Linux kernel version 2.4.20-speakup
 This package provides kernel header files for version
 2.4.20-speakup, for sites that want the latest kernel headers.
 Please read this file for details:
 /usr/share/doc/kernel-headers-2.4.20-speakup/debian.README.gz

Package: kernel-doc-2.4.20-speakup
Architecture: all
Section: doc
Priority: optional
Depends: coreutils | fileutils (= 4.0)
Provides: kernel-doc-2.4
Description: Linux kernel specific documentation for version 2.4.20-speakup.
 This package provides The various readme's in the 2.4.20-speakup kernel
 Documentation/ subdirectory: these typically contain kernel-specific
 installation notes for some drivers for example. See
 /usr/share/doc/kernel-doc-2.4.20-speakup/Documentation/00-INDEX for a list
 of what is contained in each file. Please read the Changes file, as it
 contains information about the problems, which may result by
 upgrading your kernel.
 .
 Speakup specific documentation can be found in
 /usr/share/doc/kernel-doc-2.4.20-speakup/Documentation/speakup/

Package: kernel-image-2.4.20-speakup
Architecture: i386
Section: base
Priority: optional
Provides: kernel-image, kernel-image-2.4
Depends: initrd-tools (= 0.1.34), coreutils | fileutils (= 4.0), modutils (=
2.4.19)
Suggests: lilo (= 19.1),  fdutils, kernel-doc-2.4.20-speakup
Description: Linux kernel binary image for version 2.4.20-speakup.
 This package contains the Linux kernel image for version 2.4.20-speakup,
 the corresponding System.map file, and the modules built by the
 packager. It also contains scripts that try to ensure that the
 system is not left in a unbootable state after an update.
 .
 If you wish to update a bootdisk, or to use a bootloader to make
 installing and using the image easier, we suggest you install the latest
 fdutils (for formatting a floppy to be used as boot disk), and LILO, for a
 powerful bootloader. Of course, both these are optional.
 .
 Kernel image packages are generally produced using kernel-package,
 and it is suggested that you install that package if you wish to
 create a custom kernel from the sources.
 .
 This kernel package contains a Linux kernel patched with speakup,
 a screen reader for the Linux console. Speakup currently supports the
 following hardware speech synthesizers:
  * DoubleTalk PC/LT
  * LiteTalk
  * Accent PC/SA
  * Speakout
  * Artic Transport
  * Audapter
  * Braille 'N Speak / Type 'N Speak
  * Dectalk External and Express
  * the Apollo2
 .
 NOTE: We don't claim this drivers to be stable, use them on your own
 risk.

  Description : A utility for tracking and invoicing time spent on projects

GnoTime is the GNOME Time Tracker, a program which allows you to track the
time you spend on any number of tasks and projects. GnoTime also allows you
to generate customised reports and annotated logs of these times.

Tasks within GnoTime can be marked as billable, non-billable, on hold, or
free of charge, and invoices can be generated based on these data.

GnoTime also includes various features such as sub-projects, project
planning, scheme extensions and automatic merging and clean-up of short
intervals of time.
