Bug#175266: ITP: dchroot -- Tools for creating and maintaining chroots on Debian machines.

2003-01-03 Thread David Kimdon
Package: wnpp
Version: unavailable; reported 2003-01-03
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: dchroot
  Version : x.y.z
  Upstream Author : David Kimdon <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
* URL : http://people.debian.org/~dwhedon/debian/
* License : GPL
Description : Tools for creating and maintaining chroots on Debian
machines.

This package contains scripts, documentation and programs that make it
easier to provide multiple chroots on one system. A typical
installation might provide 'stable', 'testing' and 'unstable' chroots.
Users can move between chroots as necessary.

I have a preliminary package at :

 deb-src http://people.debian.org/~dwhedon/debian/ ./
 deb http://people.debian.org/~dwhedon/debian/ ./

Comments appreciated.

It is similar to the dchroot that is installed on various Debian
machines but it supports a configuration file and has a few options. It
started out life as dchroot.c in BenC's homedir on vore.

In the future I'd like to add some scripts that make creating various
chroots painless (call to debootstrap perhaps excluding certain
packages, mount -o bind, symlinks for /etc/resolve.conf and friends,
etc.) I keep a variety of chroots on my machines at home and I'd like
to make it simple for others to do the same.

-David

King of the Hill, KOTH, is an artillery game in the grand old
tradition of little tanks with ridiculously powerful weapons trying to
blow each other up while trying to avoid getting blown up themselves.

KOTH is based on a client-server networking model. Players can join
and leave at any time, and because bandwidth use is quite modest you
can even easily play over a modem - KOTH really is a strategy game,
 ping time is irrelevant.

  Description : vCard/vCalendar C interface

libversit is a C library to parse and create vCard and vCalendar
files. It is currently used by Ximian Evolution as well as
GNOME-PIM.

If you plan to use libversit for new projects, you should consider
to use libical, instead, as it is actively maintained and supports
the later iCalendar standard as well.

Rationale: Currently, libversit is statically linked to GNOME-PIM
and Evolution, which is fine, since it's a small library that's not
widely used and not actively maintained, either. But now I as the
upstream maintainer of GNOME-PIM got the request to separate the
sources of libversit from GNOME-PIM, since somebody wants to use it
for his own project. Because of that I will start to link GNOME-PIM
dynamically against it and so I need a separate package.

Thanks for packaging jmp. I tried your 0.24-1 jmp package and it seems
to work but I didn't try it very deeply since I'm currently busy with
other things.

I noted one small thing in the packaging, the correct form for the

2003-01-03 Thread Milan Zamazal
Package: wnpp
Version: N/A; reported 2003-01-03

I intend to orphan the sabre package, I no longer use it.

The package description is:
SABRE is an on-going game development for the Linux Operating System,
worked on as a labor of love by flight-simulation enthusiasts.
 .
For now, SABRE is focusing on the older jets and piston-engined
fighters of the Korean War / Cold War era. Featured are F-86 SabreJet,
MiG-15, F-84 ThunderJet, F-51 Mustang, and Yak-9. All of the planes in
the game can be flown by the player as well as the computer pilots.

Description : gtk2 frontend for the rdesktop client

grdesktop is a frontend, written in c using the gtk2 toolkit, for the
remote desktop client (rdesktop).
It can save several connections (including there options), and browse
the network for available terminal servers.

I have already created a basic version of the debian package. It can
be downloaded from the link above.

The program is now stable enough for me, and we use it on many
x-terminals, in the company; so I think it's a good extension
for the debian project. :)
