Short description is too long, and you should not include the package name in
the description:
"An iptables-based Linux firewall"
is enough.

Extra information should be place in the long description.

He already replied to d-devel that he had done so, but doesn't have time
ATM for it.

I had some 2-minute hack packages done to try whether it was actually
usable, before I sent my ITP. I threw mine away and used his instead after
he pointed me to them. (Not that mine were that bad, only one minor issue
- a binary was put in /usr/libexec, easily resolvable by using a configure
argument - but his use CBS and I already was interested in trying that :)

This library contains the javax.sql.* package. It's convenient if you
plan to use javax.sql.DataSource or javax.sql.RowSet
 .
The javax.sql package provides for the following:
   1. The DataSource interface as an alternative to the
java.sql.DriverManager for establishing a connection with a data
  source
   2. Connection pooling
   3. Distributed transactions
   4. Rowsets
 .
You must agree with the Sun's Binary Code License Agreement to use
 this package
 .
This is NOT free software. And you do not need this package if you
use a j2sdk1.4 or if you use 'classpath' (>= 0.5)

Description: A free implementation of jaxp api
GNUJAXP includes interfaces and implementations for basic XML
processing in Java, and some general purpose SAX2 utilities.
 .
The standard distribution includes "gnujaxp.jar", javadoc, and full
source code. The current software is available at:

 This is intended only to require JDK 1.1 support to compile or run;
that may change at some point, but for now portability to PJava and

Bug#188167: I would have also taken it, feel free to make use of what I've done so far

2003-04-09 Thread Frank Küster
Dear Yooseong, (and dear Mattia)

I was also intending to adopt the package (I had in fact contacted
Robert van der Meulen some weeks ago). Since I am not yet a Debian
developer, I asked a developer I knew (Bernhard Link) wether he would
sponsor it. He agreed in principle, only asked me to change its
maintainer scripts to use debconf. I've done that in the past weeks, and
also contacted the upstream developer, cleared some questions and
packaged the new version.

The package is near ready, the only thing is that I haven't set up
pbuilder yet and only built it on woody. Therefore, I have not contacted
Bernhard again (which I do now by Cc-ing him). Also, I have not yet
signed keys with anybody.

If you like, we can combine our efforts. Anyone could sponsor me taking
it over, if you think that is less work for you (or because you want to
introduce someone new to Debian), or I could just hand over what I've
done so far to Yooseong (or anybody) - you may freely use everything, of
course.

I have put what I have done so far on my web page,
http://www.kuesterei.ch/. There is one peculiarity about this: Upstream
numbered the pre-release-Versions of 0.94 just as we number Debian
Versions: 0.94-1, 0.94-2. Therefore I decided to use the (publically
unused) version 0.93 for the pre-0.94 stuff. The packages for 0.94 that
are also on the web page are my very first try, the ones I gave to
Bernhard first.

Bye, Frank

Hmm, appears I neglected to file an ITP on this a few months ago.

At www.burtonini.com/debian/experimental you will find debs and diffs
for this package (cvs snapshots). Feel free to borrow the diffs for
inspiration, I don't have the time to package this at the moment.

As far as I know, the translation is far from being finished.
Didn't you notice?

You did, otherwise you would have used a very strange wording for your
response to Colin.

Again, your response to Colin was completely misleading, then. Make up
your mind before you fire.

You haven't read the manual page for icotool, have you? It's clearly
written out in the examples:

#v+
Create an icon named `favicon.ico' with two images:
  $ icotool -c -o favicon.ico mysite_32x32.png mysite_64x64.png
#v-

Yes, it can. See the EXAMPLES section in the manual page.

 So long!

Is this in any ways better or different than Sarien which is all ready
packaged? (Yeah, I should get it moved into main).

Not that we can't have both packaged just to reduce possible waste of
time if both projects serve excatly the same needs.
