Bug#192679: O: xisp -- A user-friendly X interface to pppd/chat.

Therefore, I orphan this package now. If you want to be the new maintainer, please take it -- see http://www.debian.org/devel/wnpp/index.html#howto-o for detailed instructions how to adopt a package properly. Some information about this package: Package: xisp Binary: xisp Version: 2.6p1-6 Priority: optional Section: contrib/net The only reason that this is in contrib is due to libforms0.89, which has been removed. Since there's a grave bug open asking for it to be rebuilt against libforms1, I'm going to make a QA upload soon to change the maintainer address and move it to main. -- Colin Watson [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Bug#199492: RFA: galeon -- GNOME web browser for advanced users
Package: wnpp Version: unavailable; reported 2003-07-01 Severity: normal Hi, This is not quite an RFA, more a request for co-maintainers. Galeon is a lot of work; lately I've not been giving it the time it deserves. I do want to continue maintaining galeon, but need more help. The current co-maintainers have been very good, but are now more interested in other projects. The package really needs the help of a crazy patch writer. Many of the issues should be trivial to fix (although there are also some larger features to deal with). If you're not interested in the reponsibility of being a co-maintainer, simply having more people going through the galeon bug reports and supplying the occasional patch would be great. The package description is: A Mozilla based web brower integrated with the GNOME desktop environment. Galeon is different from other browsers in that it has many powerful features, integrates well with gnome, and is smaller than Mozilla. Unlike many browsers, Galeon's features are entirely related to web browsing - it does not include an email client, irc bot or website designer. Galeon's motto is The web, only the web. . Galeon's use of Mozilla's Gecko rendering engine makes it fully feature complete and standards compliant, as well as being very fast at rendering web pages. . By using the GNOME and GTK libraries for the user interface, Galeon is usually faster than mozilla and the interface integrates well with the GNOME2 Desktop Environment. . This is a development snapshot, but is considered stable by many. . Homepage: http://galeon.sf.net
Bug#199510: RFP: DCC - Distributed Checksum Clearinghouse
Package: wnpp Severity: normal http://www.rhyolite.com/anti-spam/dcc/ The DCC or Distributed Checksum Clearinghouse is currently a system of many clients and more than 150 servers that collects and count checksums related to several million mail messages per day, most as seen by Internet Service Providers. The counts can be used by SMTP servers and mail user agents to detect and reject or filter spam or unsolicited bulk mail. DCC servers exchange or flood common checksums. The checksums include values that are constant across common variations in bulk messages, including personalizations. Already-packaged SpamAssassin can exploit DCC, too. -- Juhapekka naula Tolvanen * http colon slash slash iki dot fi slash juhtolv tänään tuuli kantaa pölyä, kullankeltaista, murheenkeveää. tänään tuuli kantaa nimeä, huulille katkeraa. tänään tuuli kantaa pölyä, hopeaista, heilimöivää. tänään tuuli kantaa nimeä, huulille taivaanmakeaa. All code is GPL, but obviously I only intend to package the linux client-side code. I am currently going through the new maintainer process, and would like someone to sponsor me with this package (preferably someone who uses, or is interest in using, dbtcp). Like TI, leverage this new paradigm to proactively re-engineer your core processes and drive cross functional empowerment! Two things with your description: the long should not start with the short again, and the rest of the long description is effectively marketese bullshit which doesn't tell the person thinking of installing it anything useful. Tell people what features it has, not who else is using it. Oh, and I'm pretty sure Texas Instruments is a trademark. They may not like you using their name in apparent support for another product... -- --- #include disclaimer.h Matthew Palmer, Geek In Residence http://ieee.uow.edu.au/~mjp16

The description needs some fixing, since it certainly shouldn't read like a sales pitch with the name of a company that uses it included. The long description also should not include the short description, and the short description needs to be a lot shorter. Cheers Jonathan
Bug#199632: RFP: guss -- GUSS the Universal System Simulator
Package: wnpp Version: unavailable; reported 2003-07-02 Severity: wishlist * Package name: guss Version : 0.1.1+cvs2003... Upstream Author : Johan Rydberg, Jeroen Dekkers * URL : http://savannah.nongnu.org/projects/guss * License : GPL Description : GUSS the Universal System Simulator GUSS the Universal System Simulator simulates hardware to test, debug and profile software on. It is (or will) capable of running an operating system without any modification to the OS itself. GUSS has several objectives: * Be fast. Performance is important. * Support complex memory hierarchives, with minimal performance loss. * Simulate multiple processors, including interprocess interrupts, message passing and such. * Run system-level code to allow studies of the interaction of operating system, user program, and architecture. * Gather statistics, such as memory usage, frequency of important events, and instruction profiling. * Make it possible to extend and configure the simulator using a scripting language (Scheme). * Allow symboling debuggers as frontends. * Be determenistic to allow repeats of both statistics gathering and debugging. * Be as host-independent as possible. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable Architecture: i386 Kernel: Linux aragorn 2.2.22 #1 dl nov 25 21:59:43 CET 2002 i686 Locale: LANG=ca_ES.ISO-8859-1, LC_CTYPE=ca_ES.ISO-8859-1
