It looks like the submitter has already asked for a new upstream in
#202199 "eggdrop: New version 1.6.15 available".

I think that this was meant as an ITA, not an ITP.

Someone else already said something about the Desc.
But you should fill out the other fields in the template next time you
write an ITP. Someone may be interested in Version, Author,
etc. stuff. :)

As more people will point out, the description is 60 chars or less, with
a longer description following.

So a quick desc (mainly from ltsp.org) would be:

Description: creates remote terminals out of cheap hardware
The LTSP provides a simple way to utilize low cost workstations as
either graphical or character based terminals on a GNU/Linux server.
Utilizing the LTSP, you can take very low-end PCs, remove the hard
drive, floppy and CDRom, and add a bootable network card. Many network
cards have bootrom sockets, just waiting for a bootrom to be inserted.
.
Workstation can be configured as remote Graphical X Window, Character
based telnet session, or a local shell prompt.
.
LTSP has been known to scale to 40 workstations running Netscape and
StarOffice utilizing a dual PIII-650 server with 1GB ram.

Bug#205705: ITP: jext a source code editor written in Java

2003-08-17 Thread Romain FRANCOISE
Pierre Machard <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> writes:

> Yeah, I know i should have removed this sentence, but I don't see where
> the problem is. The description is quite explicit. What do you want me
> to add ?

The first part of the description is okay as it states what the editor
does, but I would reword it in a more objective style: no need to say
that Jext provides "advanced features to ease your work", just list
them... and let the user decide if it's really helpful.

The last part is useless for the average user because people won't
necessarily want to extend the editor, but just use it.

Besides, I'd mention in the description the fact that Jext needs a JRE
and hence will come with potentially large dependencies. And you
should add the upstream homepage URL in the description as well. :-)

Cheers,
