Although the goal of publication quality is not yet attained (see goals), the
library does produce high quality 2D plots. All of the plotting commands can be
accessed either via a functional interface familiar to matlab users or an
object oriented interface familiar to python users.

I request an adopter for the mailleds package.
The package description is:
The Program mailleds have set the SUID-Bit! Please check the source code!
 .
mailleds is a quiet, unobtrusive way to signify that you have
new mail: a user daemon to blink LEDs when there is new mail.
 .
This package don't have /usr/bin/xmailleds, because this don't work.

Description : Gemu is a graphic tool which is really usefull to set up
the Sound Blaster 5.1 sound cards (drived by emu10k1, like Audigy, Live!,
etc...)

Gemu is a gnome application designed to control sound cards based on the
EMU10K1 platform by Creative Labs. I am not trying to develop
an application that gives an overly aggresive ability to change every little
aspect of the sound card. Rather I am trying to make an
app that gives you control what you hear and where it comes from, in a simply
manor. I thought a more simplified approach was best.
Honestly, how often do you want the left channel of the digital output of the
cd-rom to go to the right channel of the headphone jack?
I didn't think so. This is why gemu gives you control over both left and right
channels when you select an source or a destination.

Bug#192580: updated psyco package

2003-08-26 Thread Filippo Giunchedi
hi!
I was going to package psyco but I saw your ITP, I've updated your package to
version 1.1.1 and made some slight modifications.
About the python-psyco-doc package, I've filed a bug (207337) because mkhowto
isn't included in binary packages. Documentation IMO must be built at build-time
build-depending on python-dev and tetex-extra in this case.

kind regards,
filippo.

Bug#207325: gemu's license ?

It is GPL. It should have come with the license and readme in the binary

great... you've done the right choice ;c)

Bug#207414: ITP: hypre high performance preconditioners

2003-08-26 Thread Adam C Powell IV
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

I intend to package hypre, which is "scalable software for solving
large, sparse linear systems of equations on massively parallel
computers". It provides high-performance matrix preconditioners toward
that end, and can be linked with other software such as PETSc and
Illuminator for parallel computation of the linear equations, solution,
visualization, etc. It is written by a team at Lawrence Livermore
National Laboratories.

Unfortunately, the license includes a "No commercialization" clause,
which makes it very much non-free. I have contacted the upstream
authors to request explicit permission to redistribute it, and also to
ask that they consider relicensing under a free license. (Incidentally,
the Babel project, also written at LLNL, switched from a similar "no
commercialization" license to LGPL, and my request to them for free
licensing apparently carried some weight in their case to management.)

When I receive this permission, I will upload hypre packaging, with the
contents of both the COPYRIGHT_and_DISCLAIMER file below and their
authorization email in the debian/copyright file.

Bug#207433: ITP: spinner -- Sends small packets over a idle link to keep it open

* Package name: spinner
  Version : 1.2.4
  Upstream Author : Joe Laffey <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
* URL : http://www.laffeycomputer.com/spinner.html
* License : GPL
Description : Sends small packets over a idle link to keep it open

spinner sends small packets (null packets or a fancy ASCII spin
fan with motion) to keep a link up.
 .
It is the perfect application to keep alive a connection over
routers which disconnect a link after some idle time.
