Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

This is the library used by GnomeMeeting and other VoIP programs, I'm tyred
of the way the library is built and now that they have changed the build
method to use autoconf I have not found the time resources to repackage it.

I believe that the person that takes this package should be the one taking
pwlib, the libs used under openh323 libs.

Currently both openh323gk and GnomeMeeting seem to need the new version of
the libs for their new releases and I won't have the time needed for a
while. I can however try to help the taker if he feels the need.

Sorry :-(

* Package name: jed-extra

Description : Collection of useful JED modes and utilities

This package will contain several add-on packages for the JED editor which
are present at jedmodes.sf.net and elsewhere on the net. For now I just
included home_lib, sl_utils, and ispell from jedmodes.sf.net. Actually, the
origin of this package was a request to improve the ispell jed support
provided by the dictionaries-common package (see Bug#199502).

The preliminary (highly experimental) packages, including a modified version
of dictionaries-common, can be apt-got with the following lines in
sources.list:

deb http://people.debian.org/~rafael/jed-extra ./
deb-src http://people.debian.org/~rafael/jed-extra ./

WARNING: This apt-get repository is highly experimental (haven't I said that
already?) and the final release of jed-extra will have to be coordinated
with a changed version of dictionaries-common (jed-extra conflicts with
dictionaries-common = 0.10.3). Put the lines above in your source.list
only if you really want to participate in the development of jed-extra until
its official release.

Description : Import upstream archives into tla/arch

Tom Lord's arch/tla system is capable of importing upstream directories
into a tla archive for some archives, For situations where the upstream
renames or moves files and directories on a regular basis, version
 information can be lost.
 .
tla-load-dirs works with tla to import these things and preserve
changes. It works on a principle similar to Subversion's
 svn_load_dirs.

Hi,

I'm looking for someone who wishes to adopt celestia. I'm not really
using the program lately and I'm sure it's suffering because of that.
Development upstream is very active and Chris Laurel is very
cooperative. There's some half-done GTK 2 port in the Debian packages
which needs to be finished and submitted upstream. Other than that,
 it's pretty much ok.

Description: A real-time visual space simulation, GTK+ frontend
Celestia is a real-time visual simulation of space. Choose a point
within the Local Group of galaxies, and Celestia will show you an
approximation of how it would appear to your eyes were you actually
there. Some of what Celestia shows is necessarily
hypothetical--the farther away from Earth you get, the less real
data there is and the more guesswork is involved. Thus Celestia
supplements observational data with good guesses based on models of
 stellar and planetary processes.

Celestia is unique in its ability to allow you to navigate at an
immense range of scales. Orbit a couple kilometers above the
surface of a tiny, irregular asteroid, then head off towards
Jupiter, watching it grow from a bright point of light into a
looming sphere filling your field of vision. Leave our solar
system entirely and observe the sun as it fades from a brilliant
disk to a bright star, disappearing almost entirely as you head off
toward the Upsilon Andromeda system to orbit around its innermost
 giant planet.

 Thanks,

 Marcelo

Hi Bruno.

I'd like to know if you go on working in that ITP. I'm using geeklog every

If you need any help in packaging it, please, contact me. I'm not DD, but
I'm already in the NM process.

Thanks and cheers.

Bug#209071: O: mydns -- DNS server using MySQL for data storage

2003-09-07 Thread Philipp Kern
Package: wnpp
Version: unavailable; reported 2003-09-07
Severity: normal

I intend to orphan the mydns package.
Maintainer is not responding to MyDNS requests. I waited 23 days now and
there was already an older bug with this topic. The only thing I wonder
is why the package itself didn't get orphaned by the maintainer
directly.
The package is now NMU'ed for several times. The case is explained in
#20. I would offer to continue the maintaining of MyDNS in the
future. I already got a sponsor:
Christian Perrier [EMAIL PROTECTED]
I'll NMU it for now as the uploader before stopped working on it too.
But I would rather like to maintain it directly, with a sponsor.

The package description is:
Free DNS server for UNIX implemented from scratch and designed to
utilize the MySQL database for data storage.
 .
Its primary objectives are stability, security, interoperability, and
speed, though not necessarily in that order.
 .
MyDNS does not include recursive name service, nor a resolver library.
 .
It is primarily designed for organizations with many zones and/or
resource records who desire the ability to perform real-time dynamic
updates on their DNS data via MySQL.

Bug#155877: ITP: maim - GPL text-mode instant message client

This package is waiting on NMU.

Are you still interested in maintaining maim? In spite of the fact that
this bug is more than a year old I don't see that package in my sid.

Do you need any help? I'm not DD but I'm already in the NM proccess.

Cheers,

Bug#200851: ITP: opengroupware.org -- Groupware server to integrate with office suite products and groupware clients

2003-09-07 Thread Dan Bar

Hello,

As already told, OGo dev team has made a deb packages of OpenGroupware
suite. Anyway IMHO there is a need for a third party debian developer.

Reasons:

- current OGo debian binary packages produced by OGo team are not FHS
compliant and they do not mean to make it so (at least not in the near
future) - for their comments on this issue se bugs #147 and #188 in OGo
Bugzilla. I described my point of view in #188.

- current preinst, postinst ... debian package scripts might be much
more improved so no howto will be necesary. I posted question to OGo
mailing list and Helge Hess (OGo/Skyrix team leader) answered in the way
- its up to the distro makers to improve this part of packages.

Regards,

Daniel

Bug#200851: Something about OGo ITP

2003-09-07 Thread Javier Viñuales Gutiérrez
Hello, somethings:

* Yes, I'm the three ITP's groupware related, is it bad?. I'm really
interested in this software, ... I don't understand you :-(

* The debian packages from OGo dev team are usefull to start to play
with the software but are bad package, Dan Bar said to the OGo devel
list about the non FHS compliant problem, and another one like pre*
scripts entries needed, the OGo must not need a Howto to start with it.

Some people email to ask me about guide all OGo debian related task
through alioth... it's an interesting thing, anybody want I do it?,
anybody are interested in OGo debian team?. It'd be good a mailing list
like debian-ogo, isn't it?.

Greetings

Yes but that version is two year old .. this one is for nagios, not for
netsaint who doesn't exist anymore.
