Bug#160529: ASK is RFPed

OK. Perfect.

Exactly what I did. The problem, at the time, is that there was no package
called "python" with version >=2.2. Python 2.2's package was called
"python2.2", hence the confusion. But it's all OK now. I require "python
(>=2.2)"

No. This one is immutable. The templates are in fact text files that the
average user may choose to change. I cheched the FHS and it's not very
clear to me where I should put those files? /var/lib? Note that they're
usually copied into the user's home directory for use. We can think of
them as "skeleton" files, but they may be edited directly.

> Btw, I suggest you rename it to /usr/bin/ask. We tend to remove the language

It is strictly necessary? I really don't like having the extension, but
I fear "ask" is too common a name to be under /usr/bin without causing
conflict. Another concern is to break existing scripts. Opinions?

One question:

I need to make ask dependent on some kind of MTA. What should I
use? "Depends: mta" ? Is there anything "virtual" called mta that resolves to
any of them?

Paga

Bug#139975: GNURadio packages progress

2003-09-30 Thread Ramakrishnan Muthukrishnan
GNURadio packages are almost ready for upload. It requires some
more cleanup and I will be uploading it tentatively in another
two weeks. The upstream, now onwards, will have the debian related
files as part of the package itself, and will be checked into the CVS.

thanks

Bug#213520: ITP: phpreports -- A report generation system written in PHP

2003-09-30 Thread Matthew Palmer
Package: wnpp
Version: N/A; reported 2003-10-01
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: phpreports
  Version : 0.1.5
Upstream Author : Eustaquio Rangel de Oliveira J <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
* URL : http://phpreports.sf.net/
* License : GPL
Description : A report generation system written in PHP

PHPReports takes report definitions written in a custom XML DTD format and
turns them into a complete set of PHP code, which can be run to produce a
HTML formatted report in the format you specified.

Currently only HTML reports can be produced, in a fairly straightforward
table-oriented style, however work is underway to allow the generation of
PDF, plain text, and other formatting styles, for those that want them.

PyXMMS, packaged as python-xmms in Debian, is a set of Python bindings
for the libxmms library. With PyXMMS, you can control an XMMS session
from a program written in the Python programming language.

The package and its python 2.1, 2.2, 2.3 and -doc relatives are ready
and Sébastien Bacher is sponsoring them, so they should be in the
archive soon. In the meantime, you can find debs here (source and i386):

Bug#186212: DONATION FOR THE LORD.

2003-09-30 Thread Mrs Serena Jones
From: Mrs Serena Jones

PLEASE ENDEAVOUR TO USED IT FOR THE CHILDREN OF GOD.
I am the above named person from Kuwait. I am married to Dr.Harry Jones who
worked with Kuwait embassy in Ivory Coast for nine yearsbefore he died in the
year 2000.We were married for eleven years without a child. He died after a
brief illness that lasted for only four days. Before his death we were both
born again Christians.Since his death I decided not to re-marry or get a child
outside my matrimonial home which the Bible is against. When my
late husband was alive he deposited the sum of$8.6Million (Eight Millionsix
hundred thousand U.S. Dollars) with one finance/security company in Amsterderm
Holland. Presently, this money is still with the Security Company. Recently, my
Doctor told me that I would not last for the next
three months due to cancer problem. Though what disturbs me most is my stroke
sickness. Having known my condition I decided to donate this fund to church or
better still a christian individual that will utilize this money the way I am
going to instruct here in. I want a church that will
use this fund to fund churches, orphanages and widows propagating the word of
God and to ensure that the house of God is maintained. The Bible made us to
understand that Blessed is the hand that giveth.
I took this decision because I don't have any child that will inherit this
money and my husband relatives are not Christians and I don't want my husband's
hard earned money to be misused by unbelievers. I don'twant a situation where
this money will be used in an ungodly manner.
Hence the reason for taking this bold decision. I am not afraid of death hence
I know where I am going. I know that I am going to be in the bosom of the Lord.
Exodus 14 VS 14 says that the lord will fight my case and I shall hold my
peace. I don't need any telephone communication in this
regard because of my health because of the presence of my husband's relatives
around me always. I don't want them to know about this development.
With God all things are possible. As soon as I receiveyour reply I shall give
you the contact of the Finance/Security Company in Amsterderm Holland. I will
also issue you a letter of authority that will prove you as the original-
beneficiary of this fund. I want you and the church to always pray for me
because the lord is my shephard. My
happiness is that I lived a life of a worthy Christian. Whoever that wants to
serve the Lord must serve him in spirit and truth. Please always be prayerful
all through your life. Any delay in your reply will give me room in sourcing
for a chuch or christian individual for this
same purpose. Please assure me that you will act accordingly as I stated
herein. Hoping to hearing from you. N.B-PLEASE I WILL ADVICE YOU TO GIVE THE
LAWYER IN CHARGE A CALL IN HOLLAND IMMEDIATELY, HE DOES EVERYTHING ON MY BEHALF
AND HE'S VERY UNDERSTANDING AND I BELIEVE HE WILL LEAD YOU TO YOUR SUCCESS IN
JESUS

Remain blessed in the name of the Lord.

This is a cool utility that turns incomprehensible, proprietary
"RAW" files from digital cameras into nice ppm files.
For my own camera, the cpu time and quality is comparable to
the utility provided by the manufacturer (canon).

In case it shows, too much, This is my first interaction
with the debian project except as a happy user.

Absolutely. You can have all that and more! NOW how much would you pay? ;-)

Seriously: animals is to be removed from testing for the upcoming release,
and I had a look into that package while searching for trivial to fix RC
bugs.

It's a children's game, all it does it creating a binary tree of animals
and yes/no-questions for distinguishing between them. You have to enter all
data yourself, it's an example of a self-lerning program.

Originally, I suggested to remove this program, but later on, I found a
perl script by Randal L. Schwartz doing exactly this thing. I added some
code for I18n to it and decided to package it for Debian, since the virtual
package junior-games-text still depends on animals, which stops animals to
be removed.

And yes, I contacted Randal about this matter, and he considers his code to
be published under the same license as Perl itself.

So I think that all issues are solved, and I don't see a reason to not
replace animals with animals-game. If you still have objections, please do
not hesitate to contact me again.

Cheers,

htmlpp is a simple Perl based HTML preprocessor which is used to
generate HTML pages from text input files. The input files may contain
special markup which allows for links, tables of contents, etc to be
generated with ease.

It's purpose is to simplify the work of writing and packaging large
numbers of HTML documents, acting like a compiler: you provide input
source text and htmlpp produces the HTML documents from that.

The current version 4.2a may be downloaded from the following URL:

http://www.imatix.com/html/htmlpp/

htmlpp is distributed under the GNU Public License.
