Bug#210442: NEED YOUR ASSISTANCE

2003-10-02 Thread JANE USMAN

JANE USMAN (MRS)
C/O BARRISTER EZE CHUKWUDI
E - MAIL:[EMAIL PROTECTED]
LAGOS, NIGERIA

Dear

URGENT AND CONFIDENCIAL BUSINESS PROPOSAL

I am Jane Usman (Mrs.). Widow of the late Col. Bello
Usman the former governor of Kano State of Nigeria. My
late husband was one of the victims of the November 7
1996 Nigerian ADC aircraft Boeing 722 that crashed in
Lagos.

I have just been informed by my family attorney
BARRISTER EZE CHUKWUDI that my late husband operated
a secret account with fictitious name in a Nigerian
bank into which a total sum of nineteen million, five
hundred thousand U.S dollars ($19.5M) was transferred
and credited into his favour . the attorney now
advised me to seek in confidence a foreign account
into which this fund could be transferred for
isbursement as directed by my late husband in his
will.

It has been resolved that 25% will be your share for
nominating an account for this purpose and any other
assistance you will give in that regard. 10% has been
mapped out to pay back all local and international
expenses which may be incurred in the transfer process
and 5% has been conceded to the local bank manager
here assisting in facilitating the transfer. Finally
60% will come to my self and my children and
good part of this shall be directed towards executing
his will which is to buy shares and stocks in foreign
countries to secure his children future. To
facilitate the conclusion of this transaction if
accepted , do send to me promptly by e-mail through
our family attorney, the following.

1THE BANK ACCOUNT NUMBER TO BE USED FOR REMITTANCE
2.NAME AND ADDRESS OF YOUR BANK
3.FAX AND TELEPHONE UMBERS THROUGH WHICH YOU WILL BE
CONTACTED PROMPTLY WHENEVER YOUR ATTENTION/ASSISTANCE
MAY BE REQUIRED.

Please note that I have been assured that the
transaction will be concluded in ten (10) bank working
days upon my receiving from you the above listed
information. I shall commence the process of
retrieving the will immediately I hear from you.

May I at this point emphasize the high level of
confidentiality which this business demands and I Hope
you will not betray the trust and confidence I repose
in you. However you may need to give me sufficient
assurance that you will not sit on this fund when it
is finally remitted into your account.

Please direct your reply by e-mail to our family
attorney as indicated above and discuss with him
towards effective completion of this transaction.

Regards.

Jane Usman (Mrs.)

retitle 178429 RFP: snipsnap -- Weblog and Wiki software written in java
thanks

I'm dropping this ITP because java is a mess in Debian and I'm getting
tired of java (it's enough to code java at work).

Please do grab this package if you like java. It seemed a very nice
piece of software.

OK, redirecting the conversation to the WNPP bug as well. That was the
impression I gathered from the ITO bug report, but it's nice to have it
spelled out more concretely. Since upstream is unhelpful _and_ buggy, I
guess I won't adopt rsxs :(. I guess filing for removal is the way to
go here. Feel free to close the wishlist bug - if rss-glx provides the
same sort fo hacks, and does a better job, there's no need.

Thanks, and talk to you later,

Bug#213764: O: pyslsk -- Soulseek filesharing network client

2003-10-02 Thread Alex Kanavin
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

I'm seeking for someone who'd be willing to maintain pyslsk package in
debian. It's a p2p client for Soulseek filesharing network (which is great
for finding obscure music), written in Python/wxPython. It was maintained
by Josselin Mouette ([EMAIL PROTECTED]), but recently he replaced pyslsk
with a dummy package that makes a switch to nicotine, a pyslsk sort-of
fork, which has a gtk2 interface and a number of additional features. I
believe both programs should be available, for these reasons:

1) choice is good
2) nicotine's UI is noticeably less responsive than pyslsk's UI
3) nicotine isn't as mature yet; many users are reporting freeze problems
with the UI in particular

pyslsk is currently in maintenance mode, which means that I'm only doing
bugfixes and protocol compatibility fixes, so maintaining the package
should not take a lot of time. If you're interested, drop me and Joss a
note. Thanks!

Bug#187423: gURLChecker

2003-10-02 Thread Tobias Toedter
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-
Hash: SHA1

Hi Daniel,

just a little sidenote: if you reply to a mail concerning a bug in Debian
(in this case your ITP bug), it's a good idea to send a CC of your mail to
the bug itself. This way, other people interested can see what's going on.
I quoted all relevant parts of your mail, so there's no need to send your
mail again to [EMAIL PROTECTED]

And now for the real answer:

> > I'd like to ask about gURLChecker's status of being included in the
> > next Debian release, which is planned for december this year. I'd
> > really like to see gURLChecker included.
>
> I would like also!

Well, that's good to hear. ;-)

> Well, I tried to become a Debian developer, and I packaged this program,
> I asked for an sponsor but without response. After this I got a lot of
> work and didn't retry doing it.
>
> If you are interested on help me to upload it, I will be very happy :-)

I would do that of course, if only I could... I'm not a developer either,
so I cannot upload directly. I had always success in the past asking for a
sponsor on the -mentors mailing list.

Sometimes, the people on -mentors seem to be quite busy themselves, so
maybe your request for sponsorship was silently forgotten. In this case, if
you don't get any response within a few days, just repost your RFS. Usually
those guys are really helpful and willing to upload the package for you. If
you've made some mistakes in the packaging, they'll tell you what you
should do to correct them.

You'll have to provide the .diff.gz file somewhere; I couldn't find it on
your homepage.

Ideally, your mail to debian-mentors@lists.debian.org should contain the
following:

- - short desciption of the package (like the ITP)
- - URLs where to get the source (.orig.tar.gz) and your patches (.diff.gz)

I'd think that you'll get a sponsor then.

Good luck,

CPAN's Test::Differences compares data structures and strings
and returns their differences in a UNIX diff fashion if they
are "not ok". Useful for comparing large structures easily
 when running tests.

This is an upstream dependancy of Test::Class, a very useful testing utility

You have to fill x.y.z and name.

"gToDo is..." is sentence, and it's inappropriate for the description.
"Todo list gtk+-2.0 application" or something is OK.

Severity: wishlist

* Package name: tetrinet
  Version : 0.10
  Upstream Author : Andrew Church <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
* URL : http://achurch.org/tetrinet/
* License : Public Domain
Description : client and server for tetrinet, a networked tetris version

Included in this package you will find tetrinet which is a ncurses
client and tetrinet-server which is the server program. Together you can
use them to play tetrinet with friends over the internet.

The client requires 48 lines at least, but you get only one chat line
during the game, then.

The server doesn't seem to accept any special options or have a
configuration file, just one room with specials enabled.

Don't take this description too serious, it won't be the final one for
the package, just a quick shot about what's going on (but still better
than those single line long descriptions :-/ ).

About the name of the package: Discussable, but I don't really know
what to use else. The package is simply called tetrinet upstream.

Please Cc me on replies (or keep the bug address in the list) so I
don't miss any valueable informations, I scan debian-devel only through
the archive.

 So long,
Alfie

Hi Jon,
I have packages of turck-mmcache locally that we used here for a while,
but we deemed it too unstable - scripts would randomly not work, or the
children would segfault, or whatever, hence we decided not to release
the packages into Debian - it was just too unstable. However, if you
want the packages, give me a yell and I'll put them up somewhere.

Cheers!
:) d

Description : Perform diffs on files and record sets in perl

CPAN's Text::Diff provides a basic set of services akin to the GNU diff
utility. It is not anywhere near as feature complete as GNU diff, but
it is better integrated with Perl and available on all platforms

This is an upstream dependancy of libtest-differences-perl, which is
a dependancy of Test::Class, a very useful testing utility that I may
be using in an upcoming software project

Description : Simple module to determine whether or not a year is a
leapyear

This is a simple, non-OO module to determine whether or not a year is a leap
year. It exports one
function, isleap, which returns 1 or 0, which determines whether a year is leap
or not

This is a relatively simple module, but it's a distinct component necessary for
libdate-ical-perl, which in turn is used by one of the upstream examples for
libtest-class-perl
(and is thus a Suggests: on it, and should be furfilled.)

Unless there are any objections from debian-devel, this will be in new/ later
today.

Bug#187423: gURLChecker

2003-10-02 Thread Tobias Toedter
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-
Hash: SHA1

Hi Daniel,

I'd like to ask about gURLChecker's status of being included in the next
Debian release, which is planned for december this year. I'd really like to
see gURLChecker included.

Looking at the homepage, I can find ready made .debs for this program - so
why didn't you add the package to the distribution already?

In case you can't upload to Debian directly, you'll need a sponsor. You can
ask for sponsorship on the mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Cheers,
