2004-01-21 Thread Daniel Stone
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

I'm orphaning this package due to a lack of time (way too many other
commitments, even after dropping a few). Upstream's mail bounced for a
while, and after that, just never got back to me on anything, and ended
up releasing a new major version by stealth.

Anyone that wants it, it's yours. *Please* take it; but please note that
I don't have the time to do sponsorships, so you'll have to find another
sponsor.

Bug#228843: ITP: jasmin - java assembler compiler

2004-01-21 Thread Grzegorz B. Prokopski
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: jasmin or jasmin-sable
  Version : 1.06 or 1.2
  Upstream Author : Jonathan Meyer
* URL : http://mrl.nyu.edu/~meyer/jasmin/
  URL alt : http://www.sable.mcgill.ca/software/#soot
* License : GPL2 or LGPL
  Description : java assembler compiler

Jasmin is a Java ASseMbler INterface. It takes ASCII descriptions for
Java classes, written in a simple assembler-like syntax and using the
Java Virtual Machine instruction set. It converts them into binary Java
class files suitable for loading into a JVM implementation.

For the ones wondering why the info above ITP looks so strange: there
exists the original jasmin, GPLed, and more actively maintained
jasmin-sable, which is LGPLed (was relicensed at some point by the
original author). There are some issues that I am trying to clear out
now, so cannot say which version will eventually be packaged.

PS: Bcc:ing d-d directly as Evo doesn't allow me to add headers :-(

Upstream (Brian C. Lane <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>) says:

I'm not familiar with those devices, I'll have to take a look at them --
do you have a webpage? The DigiTemp philosophy is to read sensors that
return current status, not to interface to all iButton devices. I could
write a different app to interface to switches, d/a converters, etc. but

Bug#228925: ITP: madison-lite - display versions of Debian packages in an archive

  Version : 0.1

* URL :

* License : BSD
Description : display versions of Debian packages in an archive

This program inspects a local Debian package archive and displays the
versions of the given packages found in each suite (for example, stable,
testing, or unstable) in a brief but easily human-readable form. It aims
to be a drop-in replacement for the madison utility from the da-katie
archive management suite that runs on the central Debian archive
systems, but one which can run without access to the archive's SQL
database.

I've been running this on gluck for a while, and it works well, but it
does require a certain amount of disk space:

  [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ du .madison-lite
  13792 .madison-lite/cache
  13800 .madison-lite

Before I upload this I'll add an example script or something that
downloads Packages and Sources files from a mirror so that you don't
have to maintain a full local mirror to use it.

Cheers,

I request an adopter for the libapache-requestnotes-perl package.
The package description is:
This module provides a simple interface allowing all phases of the
request cycle access to cookie or form input parameters in a
consistent manner. Behind the scenes, it uses libapreq functions to
parse request data and puts references to the data objects in
 pnotes.

Kernel-patch-time is a kernel patch from iptables' patch-o-matic set

based on the packet arrival time (arrival time at the machine which the
netfilter is running on) or departure time (for locally generated
packets).

Bug#202872: alzabo ITP

2004-01-21 Thread Jay Bonci
Heya Michael,
If you need alzabo in any sort of timeframe, feel free to go ahead and
package it. I was working on a re-write of the Build.PL script, so that
it was all automatic and didn't ask any questions unless given a flag. I
haven't made much headway (Some other packages are crying out for help),
so if you want to do the alzabo package, feel free. Just assign the bug
to yourself, so I know what's up.

Thanks,

Description : Event queues OCaml library

Equeue is an Objective Caml (OCaml) library containing a generic
implementation of queues of events of any type, and a specific
implementation of queues of file descriptor events.

The generic module allows to associate an event queue with an event
source, and one or several event handlers. The event source generates
new events that are triggered from the outer world. The handlers
consume events, but it is allowed that handlers also generate events.

  The module for file descriptor events already defines an event source;
this source watches registered file descriptors and produces events if
a descriptor wants to deliver data, or if a descriptor is ready to
accept data. As in the generic module, the handlers consume the
  events.

The main application of these modules are implementations of protocol
stacks which can cooperate with each other.

The current French language package has no "unstable" spellchecker
available through Debian. I found and installed the original port from
the German group which has ported OpenOffice.org (my sources.list has
deb http://ftp.freenet.de/pub/ftp.vpn-junkies.de/openoffice/ unstable
main contrib). But I feel this solution inadequate : said package is
outdated and incomplete (to hyphenator).

As far as I can tell, the "official" French dictionaries are up to
date and released under GPL, and thus can be distributed on Debian.
Would it be possible to integrate them in unstable ?

Sincerely,

E. Charpentier
