Bug#234854: ITP: tinyscheme -- very, very lightweight embeddable Scheme interpreter

2004-02-25 Thread Evan Prodromou
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: tinyscheme
  Version : 1.33
  Upstream Author : Dimitrios Souflis <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
* URL : http://tinyscheme.sourceforge.net/

Description : very, very lightweight embeddable Scheme interpreter

TinyScheme is a very, very lightweight embeddable Scheme interpreter.
Compiled versions of the interpreter are typically less than 100 kB in size,
yet provide a significant subset of R5RS Scheme.
.
TinyScheme is embeddable; there's a dynamic library for including the
interpreter in other programs. It's also extensible; it includes a
mechanism for dynamically linking in other libraries. There's also a
command-line interpreter.

OK.

Yes, already planning to do that.

Thanks for the pointer. I have been trying to follow normal conventions
but it's a little unclear. This clarifies it a bit. But unixodbc is an
unusual case:

1. It does not support findlib
2. It provides a library
3. It provides a standalone GTK application, Biniki, that is a sort of
   SQL monitor
4. It provides a standalone text-mode SQL monitor

I've got some preliminary packaging going. But OcamlODBC seems to be
somewhat limited in a few areas; I am going to look into packaging
Perl4Caml and the Caml DBI interface next.

Could you please X-Debbugs-Cc: ocaml related ITPs also to the
debian-ocaml-maint mailing list? Some people interested in packaging
ocaml related stuff for debian are not subscribed to debian-devel.

Regarding your ITP: I'm actually not connected and I can't check, but
IIRC upstream name is "ocamlodbc". Could you please use this name for
the source package name? Then, as suggested in the ocaml packaging
policy (/usr/share/doc/ocaml/ocaml_packaging_policy.gz), you should use
libodbc-ocaml name for dynamically loadable shared objects (if any) and
libodbc-ocaml-dev for the development part of the library.

Thanks for your effort in packaging ocamlodbc, I had a look at it a
while ago, but I've never had enough time/interest to package it.

Cheers.

Bug#216878: yale and gliese

2004-02-25 Thread Aaron Bloomfield

Gabriel and Javi,

I am still interested in helping out - I think I just got a bit
intimidated by the amount of reading required to become a developer! So
it will probably take me a while to get up to speed in learning all I
need to know. And I've been very busy with work lately. So I'm happy
to pass the things on to you, Gabriel. Or I'm happy to work on these
packaged - it will just take a bit of time on my end. Either way is
fine with me

-Aaron

Oh... That should've been reflected on the bug report :-/

Aaron: what about me packaging the data and you packaging the GUIs? :]

Starting in Debian by packaging 4 packages at a time seems too much to me as a
newbie ¬_¬

Description: Linux kernel TFTP boot loader for m68k VME processor boards.
Tftplilo is a highly configurable kernel and ramdisk network boot loader
for BVM and Motorola m68k VME processor boards. It provides a mechanism
for one or more diskless machines to interactively select a kernel boot
configuration from a set of configurations defined in a single text
configuration file that is transferred from the host tftp server. Each
defined configuration specifies things such as Linux kernel and initial
ramdisk file names which are then also transferred from the host tftp
 server.

I was wondering how the package is coming along. udev has been uploaded
to experimental and hal is already in unstable, so debian seems ready
for this package.

I've got my own package locally, but you filed a wnpp first :).

If you need any help, let me know.
