Now, I included and things > worked out quite nicely. So, the problem seems to be a simple matter of > creating the files correctly and we're done.). Dear Claire and other tetex developers in Debian, I've been using Claire's cm-super package version 0.3.3-2 for almost a year now and things are working quite well with the tetex version currently in testing. Like another poster hinted, the only thing that was missing in my earlier setup was to run updmap and things are working brilliantly. Is there any progress in getting cm-super integrated in sarge? I have many friends that would like to generate decent PDF files with Computer Modern fonts (or the Concrete Mathematics fonts), but since the packages that Claire put in her repository (http://people.debian.org/~cmc/) are gone, I am not able to make new install both for mylsef and my friends. I would sincerely love to get it included into Debian sarge, if possible (or know if there is any reason that would prevent it from being included). Thanks in advance, Rogério Brito. -- =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Rogério Brito - [EMAIL PROTECTED] - http://www.ime.usp.br/~rbrito =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Did you try the lmodern package? The Latin Modern fonts are "enhanced" (with accented characters and more) Computer Modern fonts in Type 1 format. As far as French typesetting is concerned, they are similar to cm-super but it seems they are of better quality (I say "seems" because I am not myself a font expert). Perhaps they could solve the problem for you and your friends. PS: the lmodern version in unstable (0.86-9) has X and defoma support for the fonts; for TeX-related work only, the version in testing (0.86-7) should be equivalent. -- Florent

Without actually having used debfoster earlier, it seems that it is more intended to be run manually by a user -- pkgsync is intended as a fully automated tool run from cron (ie. an extended cron-apt). Also, pkgsync is probably more lightweight in that it uses aptitude for almost all its logic; debfoster keeps a lot of information `on the side' of apt, it seems. /* Steinar */ -- Homepage: http://www.sesse.net/

I'd say for all of the other applications out there which don't use gnomeprint, so they too can write PDF files. gnome-cups-manager just makes it easy to add it to the system as a printer so that all apps can use it. Bug#237144: RFA: gpppkill -- GTK+ pppd monitoring and control utility
Package: wnpp Severity: normal I request an adopter for the gpppkill package. The package description is: gpppkill is a small GTK+ program which displays a graph of ppp link usage and also has options to kill pppd after a specified time of low link usage, or after a given amount of time. This would be a great first package for a new maintainer, I am giving it up because I no longer have a ppp connection to the 'net and so no longer use gpppkill. As such, it would probably be much better if someone else maintained this package. (Ah, you've filled them in down below, but the really should be above, not part of the long description.) > Description : RLPlot is is a plotting program to create high quality > graphs from data. Don't repeat the name in the short description, which allows you to avoid the passive voice, and the duplicated "is is". If you're not going to generate the graphs from data, what *do* you generate them from? Perhaps this: Description: generate high quality graphs > (Include the long description here.) You're supposed to delete this line. > > RLPlot is is a plotting program to create high quality graphs from data. > The Graphs are displayed as you get them (Wysiwyg). It supports all > major scientific graphing formats including bar charts, error bars and > scatter plots. "Graphs" shouldn't be capitalized in the second sentence. OTOH, "WYSIWYG" should be all caps. I'm not sure what "displayed as you get them" means, though: it could mean that RLPlot can read a live data stream, and update in real time? It would be useful to know what the output format is - Postscript, on the X display, both?
