There's nothing particularly special about teepeedee HTTP apart from the
very flexible and sensible configuration method.

What is special about teepeedee's FTP is that it is faster than all the
others.

I agree. They are also both out of date with regards to upstream.
While libdbmusic is in woody, kmusicdb never was.

Please put NapShare back in Debian archive, thanks

2004-03-14 Thread Nate
I don't know why NapShare was removed, I always fixed whatever bug
reports I could find via Google Groups and the bug report page.

It's up to V1.3 stable and there's a lot of improvements in the
1.9.1.beta2, you may want to look at it.

It's still being supported (by me) updates may be a little slow for
some people, but it's not a full time thing.

There was a mention that it is just like gtk-gnutella but it's
completely different, it has "Automation", a very advanced feature
for a Gnutella client, I've worked hard on improving that at each
release.

Please let me know about any bugs for Debian that may be in the beta
release and I will fix them. You can also post bugs to the
SourceForge project page at any time, I watch that closely.

If I have reached the wrong person for this, please let me know who
to contact, thanks.

I request an adopter for the amsn package.
I am no longer using amsn, so I am not really motivated to maintain it.
The package description is:
A very nice MSN compatible messenger application. Works pretty much like its
Windows based counterpart. Perfect for keeping in touch with those friends
who have not yet seen the light.
 .
This package supersedes ccmsn, which is no longer maintained upstream.

The following web servers describe themself as small and fast and are
already in the archive:
- dhttpd
- fnord
- bozohttpd
- thttpd
- wn
- thy

At total, we have 18 different http-Servers in Debian.

What's the great advantage over the mentioned servers so that
teepeedee should be added to our archive?

See

for the reasons the upstream author believes Polipo is better than other
HTTP proxies.

What are the advantages compared with the packages we currently have
in Debian, e.g. wwwoffle?

Yes, it is listed in the text above (cue/bin with various track types,
including SVCD). loopback device works only with ISO data images.

I doubt the usual loopback mounts can handle bin/cue files.

BTW, mplayer can play SVCD directly from bin/cue files too ;-)

I always performed these tasks using a loopback device:

mount -o loop /path/to/cdimage /cdrom

Does CDemu offer any additional functionality over loopback devices?

Bug#237934: RFP: cvs2svn -- cvs2svn : convert a cvs repository to a subversion repository

cvs2svn started out life as part of Subversion and has been included in
the Debian 'subversion-tools' package for a while. As of subversion
1.0.1 the cvs2svn python script is no longer part of the subversion
distribution. cvs2svn is now a separate project which needs to be
packaged separately from subversion.

Isn't it then merely 'pending', as it sits in NEW queue, and can still
be rejected? IIRC, it's common practice to close ITP bugs by having a
'Initial packaging (Closes: #number-of-ITP)' changelog entry, which will
be closed automatically when the package is then accepted from NEW.

MPlayer can play the movie right along from the bin, and probalbly
others as well can do it.

I think more people use .iso, which can be mounted on loopback, also
maybe .bin is also mountable, but cdfs which is already a part of
Debian, would help here.

  Description : CD drive emulator

CDemu is a kernel module for Linux which can simulate a CD drive that
contains a CD. It uses simple cue/bin files as input for the data that
should appear on the virutal disc. It includes a user space program
which controls the kernel module. This is primarily useful for watching
an SVCD or mounting the data track of a bin/cue CD image without burning

The math font when you \usepackage{lmodern} *is* Computer Modern. The
math font doesn't really need to be enhanced for non-US charsets like
the text fonts do.
