Bug#237854: ITP: egroupware -- A web-based groupware suite

2004-03-15 Thread Thomas Viehmann
Hi.

Peter Eisentraut wrote an ITP for:
 * Package name: egroupware
As you may or may not know, I'm trying to maintain the phpGroupWare
packages in Debian.
As the overall structure of the packages is still very similar and as I
don't care for the politics involved, I'd be happy to share packaging stuff.
What I have is on alioth, project pkg-phpgroupware, especially the
prerelease module.

Kind regards

Thomas

* Package name: regexp-pp
  Version : 0.9.3
  Upstream Author : Yutaka Oiwa [EMAIL PROTECTED]
* URL : http://web.yl.is.s.u-tokyo.ac.jp/~oiwa/caml/#regexp-pp
* License : LGPL  QPL
  Description : Syntax extension for OCaml to make Regexp usage much easier
 Regexp/OCaml provides convenient syntax sugar for regular expression
 match for strings using PCRE/OCaml library. The features of this macro
 package are the following:

 Convenient syntax: similar to standard match-with expression

 Binding matching substrings to variables: no more $1, $2, ...

 Automagical easy-to-use type-coercion: no flood of int_of_string etc.

 Support for optional-patterns: gives string option type etc.

 Default values for optional-patterns

 A regular expression which appears in the source file will be evaluated
 only once; it is pre-compiled before actual execution and then cached.
 The package contains a small macro, called once, makes any value to
 be evaluated only once.

Binary package will be libocaml-regexp-pp-dev.

I request an adopter for the libxml-sax-machines-perl package.
The package description is:
 These modules provide a collection of APIs that allow complex SAX
 machines to be constructed without a huge amount of extra typing.
 .
 SAX machines are a way to gather and manage SAX processors without
 going nuts. Or at least without going completely nuts. Individual
 machines can also be like SAX processors; they don't need to parse or
 write anything:
 .
   my $w = XML::SAX::Writer-new( Output = \*STDOUT );
   my $m = Pipeline( My::Filter1, My::Filter2, { Handler = $w } );
   my $p = XML::SAX::ParserFactory-new( handler = $p );

I request an adopter for the libxml-sax-perl package.
The package description is:
 This module consists of several framework classes for using and
 building Perl SAX2 XML parsers, filters, and drivers. It is designed
 around the need to be able to plug in different SAX parsers to an
 application without requiring programmer intervention. Those of you
 familiar with the DBI will be right at home. Some of the designs
 come from the Java JAXP specification (SAX part), only without the
 javaness.
 .
 This package also contains a script (called update-perl-sax-parsers)
 to manage the ParserDetails.ini file. This script is intended to be
 used in postinst and prerm package scripts to (de)register parsers.
 See README.Debian for more info.

I request an adopter for the libxml-um-perl package.
The package description is:
 This module provides methods to convert UTF-8 strings to any XML
 encoding that XML::Encoding supports. It creates mapping routines
 from the .xml files that can be found in the maps/ directory in the
 XML::Encoding distribution. Note that the XML::Encoding distribution
 does install the .enc files in your perl directory, but not the.xml
 files they were created from. That's why you have to specify $ENCDIR
 as in the SYNOPSIS.
 .
 This implementation uses the XML::Encoding class to parse the .xml
 file and creates a hash that maps UTF-8 characters (each consisting
 of up to 4 bytes) to their equivalent byte sequence in the specified
 encoding. Note that large mappings may consume a lot of memory!
 .
 Future implementations may parse the .enc files directly, or do the
 conversions entirely in XS (i.e. C code).

Severity: normal

I request an adopter for the libxml-xql-perl package.
The package description is:
 This module implements the XQL (XML Query Language) proposal
 submitted to the XSL Working Group in September 1998. The spec can
 be found at: http://www.w3.org/TandS/QL/QL98/pp/xql.html. Most of
 the contents related to the XQL syntax can also be found in the
 XML::XQL::Tutorial that comes with this distribution. Note that XQL
 is not the same as XML-QL!
 .
 The current implementation only works with the XML::DOM module, but
 once the design is stable and the major bugs are flushed out, other
 extensions might follow, e.g. for XML::Grove.
 .
 XQL was designed to be extensible and this implementation tries to
 stick to that. Users can add their own functions, methods,
 comparison operators and data types. Plugging in a new XML tree
 structure (like XML::Grove) should be a piece of cake.

Package: wnpp
Version: unavailable; reported 2003-09-11
Severity: normal

I request an adopter for the libxml-xslt-perl package.
The package description is:
 This module parses XSL Transformational sheets. For a description of
 the XSLT, see http://www.w3.org/TR/xslt. Currently, it uses
 XML::Parser and XML::DOM, but an effort is being made to use
 XML::XPath.
