Bug#239298: O: cl-uncommonsql -- Common Lisp database access kit

2004-03-21 Thread Adam Di Carlo

Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

I intend to orphan the cl-uncommonsql package.

The package description follows:

UncommonSQL is a database integration kit for Common Lisp. It
provides a CommonSQL-compatible interface with a functional SQL
syntax and a CLOS integrated Object-to-Relational mapping. You can
serialize complete CLOS objects into an RDBMS.
 .
UncommonSQL supports a number of database backends: MySQL, PostgreSQL,
and Oracle. To use this package, you must use one such package,
which will provide the cl-uncommonsql-backend package.
 .
UncommonSQL is based on another CL database library, MaiSQL.

Please get in touch with me if you want to take over the maintanence
of this package. Be warned it is no longer maintained upstream as a
stand-alone free-s/w package, so the new maintainer would have to deal
with that as well. However, the s/w itself is still under a free
license.

Bug#239296: RFA: gnucash -- gnome accounting package

2004-03-21 Thread James A. Treacy
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

The gnucash package is big, with a growing number of bugs, and I no
longer have the time needed to maintain it. The packager needs to be
able to work with upstream. At a minimum you should be comfortable
with a debugger and willing to learn scheme. If a group could be found
to maintain it, that would be ideal.

Bug#238892: about libglade2 adoption

2004-03-21 Thread James Curbo

-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-
Hash: SHA1

Hi,

I was planning on adopting libglade2 in cooperation with the Debian
GNOME Team, and uploading 2.3.6 to experimental with them, but you beat
me to the bugmail. Are you a DD? I am not, but was going to be sponsored
by the GNOME Team guys... if you want to maintain this that is fine with
me. Sebastian Bacher has asked me to maintain glade-2 and I figured I'd
take libglade2 along with it...

I have already checked in a debian/ dir for libglade2 2.3.6 into the
pkg-gnome subversion repository and have converted it to use cdbs; I
have not yet done the same for 2.0.1 in unstable although I have checked
the current 2.0.1 debian/ dir into our svn repository as well.
(http://svn.debian.org/viewcvs/pkg-gnome/ ; 2.0.1 is under
desktop/branches/2.4/ and 2.3.6 is under desktop/trunk/)

Also, Gustavo Noronha Silva has uploaded libglade2 2.0.1-7 just a few
minutes ago which contains a small fix in the Suggests: (it just had
'glade' and needed to be 'glade-2 | glade-gnome2') and he also changed
the maintainer to me, by my request.

I apologize for not mailing this in sooner.. I was too occupied with
learning cdbs and svn yesterday and forgot about hunting this bug down.
Please let me know what you think; I am most concerned with keeping you
from doing duplicate work. I believe the changes to build system for
2.3.6 could easily be used for 2.0.1 as well.

Bug#239253: ITP: disktype -- detection of content format of a disk or disk image

2004-03-21 Thread Juan Manuel Garcia Molina
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: disktype
  Version : 6
  Upstream Author : Christoph Pfisterer
* URL : http://disktype.sourceforge.net/

Description : detection of content format of a disk or disk image

The purpose of disktype is to detect the content format of a disk or
disk image. It knows about common file systems, partition tables, and
boot codes.

The program is written in C and is designed to compile on any modern
Unix flavour. It is self-contained and in general works without
special libraries or headers. Some system-dependent features can be
used to gather additional information.

Bug#239233: O: pose - PalmOS Emulator

2004-03-21 Thread Juan Manuel Garcia Molina
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

Hi.

I have not enough free time to keep on maintaining this package, so I
think I must orphan it.

If you want to adopt it, I'd like you to take care of package pose-skins
also (pose-skins is very simple to maintain).

A pair of issues related to pose:

* pose is abandoned software. So, please, don't expect patches by
  upstream authors.

* I've been trying to port pose to gcc-3.3, without success. Thanks to
Aaron, I managed to make it build, but the program didn't work as it
should (you couldn't use the pen!). So you, the new maintainer, have
a great work to fix this. I must say in last month I had no time
enough to try again with gcc 3.3, so maybe it works just now.

Regards,
Juanma.

It may be better to name it "-ukr" to make it more clear it's for
Ukrainian, not UK English or some such. I was asked to do this for
aspell-ukr.

May be you are right. But I also made package called
