Right, jde uses speedbar-beta, since it requires speedbar 0.14beta or
later. Removing speedbar-beta ATM will make jde unusable.

I'll look at the new cedet (now eieio, speedbar, semantic etc. are
distributed as one "cedet" distribution) and might package it this
weekend.

I intend to orphan the cvsbook package.
The package description is:
This is an electronic version of the first edition of a book written by
Karl Fogel and published by Coriolis, Inc. This book covers CVS, starting
with a tutorial and going on to cover repository administration, more
advanced topics, troubleshooting, and a complete CVS reference.
 .
If you're looking for a gentle introduction to CVS, or an in-depth
coverage that's easier to follow than the documentaton in CVS, read this
 book.

Description : Tools for helping translation of documentation

The goal po4a [po for anything] project is to ease translations (and more
interstingly, the maintainance of translation) using gettext tools on areas
where they were not expected like documentation.
 .
This package contains the main libraries of po4a, and the following
 sub-modules:
 .
   - KernelHelp: The help messages associated with each kernel compilation
 option.
   - Man: Good old manual page format.
   - Pod: Perl documentation format.
   - Sgml: either debiandoc or docbook DTD.
 .
Support for other formats like XML, HTML, TexInfo and WML is planned.

This package is comparable to po-debiandoc (which it replace) and poxml
(which can handle DocBook XML only).

Thanks, Mt.

Description : Ada binding to the X Window System and *tif

This is a hand-written Ada binding to the X libraries and the Lesstif
widget set. While retaining familiarity to the C interface, the
author tried to include the security of Ada by controlling the
creation and release of pointer types wherever possible.

While all of the Motif(tm) routines are included, some Xlib and X
intrinsics routines are still missing. Support for the Athena widget
set is not planned.

Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

I intend to orphan the cl-uncommonsql package.

The package description follows:

UncommonSQL is a database integration kit for Common Lisp. It
provides a CommonSQL-compatible interface with a functional SQL
syntax and a CLOS integrated Object-to-Relational mapping. You can
serialize complete CLOS objects into an RDBMS.
 .
UncommonSQL supports a number of database backends: MySQL, PostgreSQL,
and Oracle. To use this package, you must use one such package,
which will provide the cl-uncommonsql-backend package.
 .
UncommonSQL is based on another CL database library, MaiSQL.

Please get in touch with me if you want to take over the maintanence
of this package. Be warned it is no longer maintained upstream as a
stand-alone free-s/w package, so the new maintainer would have to deal
with that as well. However, the s/w itself is still under a free
license.

Bug#241457: ITP: libgimp-perl -- Perl support and plugins for The GIMP

2004-04-01 Thread Marc Brockschmidt
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: libgimp-perl
  Version : 2.0pre2
Upstream Author : Marc Lehmann <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>, Seth Burgess <[EMAIL

* URL : http://www.example.org/
* License : Perl (== GPLv2 or higher and Artistic)
Description : Perl support and plugins for The GIMP
This package includes the Perl modules necessary to write Perl-based
plugins for The GIMP. It includes several plugins with various
 useful features.

This was available as gimp-perl (I'll add a fitting Provides) and was
built from the gimp source, but is now split out to it's own source
package. It's needed to build OO.org.

2004-04-01 Thread Nuutti Kotivuori
I have been told that the SILC upstream source has removed MARS and
RC6 half a year ago. Those were the patent encumbered algorithms in
SILC that were causing the problem.

So, what's up with getting SILC into the main archive? Is someone
submitting it? Are there still problems with it?

  Description : a GTK+ graphical front-end to valgrind

Well, if you want to know what Alleyoop is, you've come to the right place.

Alleyoop is a graphical front-end to the increasingly popular Valgrind memory
checker for x86 GNU/ Linux using the Gtk+ widget set and other GNOME libraries
for the X-Windows environment.

Features include a right-click context menu to intelligently suppress errors or
launch an editor on the source file/jumping to the exact line of the error
condition. A searchbar at the top of the viewer can be used to limit the
viewable errors to those that match the regex criteria entered. Also included
is a fully functional Suppressions editor.

* Package name: pmacct
  Version : 0.6.0
  Upstream Author : Paolo Lucente <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

Description : promiscuous mode traffic accountant

pmacct is a tool designed to gather traffic information (bytes and number
of packets) by listening on a promiscuous interface, which may facilitate
billing, bandwidth management, traffic analysis, or creating usage graphs.
 .
Data can be stored in memory and queried, or written to a database; storage
methods are quite flexible and may aggregate totals or keep them separate.

Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: nsca
  Version : 2.4
  Upstream Author : Ethan Galstad <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
* URL : http://www.nagios.org/
* License : GPL
Description : Nagios service check acceptor - a nagios addon

This program is designed to accept passive service check results from
clients that use the send_nsca utility (also included in this package)
and pass them along to the Nagios process by using the external command
interface. The program can either be run as a standalone daemon or as a
service under inetd. If you have libmcrypt installed on your systems,
you can choose from multiple crypto algorithms (DES, 3DES, CAST, xTEA,
Twofish, LOKI97, RJINDAEL, SERPENT, GOST, SAFER/SAFER+, etc.) for
encrypting the traffic between the client and the server. Encryption
is important in this addon, as it prevents unauthorized users from
sending bogus check results to Nagios.

It is downloadable from http://www.nagios.org/download/extras.php.
