 A secure, effective and simple way of getting mail off a system to your

 spool to poke around in, and no daemons running in the background. Mail is
 simply forwarded to the configured mailhost. Extremely easy configuration.

  Yes.

 Why? :) There's no longer anything that prevents GATOS from working with
 the current DRM from DRI CVS, for which I provide drm-trunk-module-src.

Ah, that's good news. Last time I tried, the GATOS DRI required a version
of DRM older than those shipped by the kernel and X, so that their version
was indeed required.

I'll check that and surely close the ITP then :)

 Also, are you aware of the bugs being filed about the non-free microcode
 in the DRM?

No, I'll look at that. You mean DRM from DRI or from GATOS ?

  Maybe the X source package could integrate the ATI.2 sources, and build a
  package for it ?

 IMHO the GATOS folks should really try to get their code merged...

Sure that would be easier for everyone. But there's more than just DRI in
their tree, and last time I checked, it looked like they had 2 branches: one
with tv-in working, and one with tv-out working...

 in the meantime, the DDK is probably the best solution.

Unfortunately apt-cache search ddk and other guesses do not help me much.
In which package will I find it ?

Bug#243301: ITP: libcroco -- a generic Cascading Style Sheet (CSS) parsing and manipulation toolkit

2004-04-12 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: libcroco
  Version : 0.5
  Upstream Author : Dodji Seketeli [EMAIL PROTECTED]
* URL or Web page : http://www.freespiders.org/projects/libcroco/
* License : LGPL
  Description : a generic Cascading Style Sheet (CSS) parsing and
manipulation toolkit

  Services provided by Libcroco
   * A parser module that provides
  o A SAC like api. SAC stands for Simple Api for CSS. SAC is an event
driven api wich resembles SAX in the xml world.
  o A CSSOM like api. CSSOM stands for Cascading Style Sheet Object Model.
   .
The libcroco parser implements the CSS Level 2 specification, the CSS
forward compatibility rules and the CSS cascading rules.
   .
   * A CSS2 selection engine
  Given an xml element node (that obviously comes from an xml document) and
  a stylesheet cascade, the Libcroco selection engine can evaluate the css
  selectors of the cascade and return the style properties associated to
  the xml element node.
   .
Note that the xml manipulation toolkit used by the libcroco selection
engine at the moment is libxml2.

As kernel 2.6 has firmware loading support, this package is only
required for 2.4. As it is also at least partially non-free, I don't
have time to pursue the division of firmware and its packaging in
Debian.

I will keep the bluez-bluefw package at the BlueZ site (bluez.org) up to
date as far as I am able, but I do not intend to maintain this in Debian
itself.

Justin Pryzby [EMAIL PROTECTED] schrieb:

 Do you still intend to package molmol for Debian? If so, please

Yes, I still intend to package it. There are two things that delay it:

- There are some minor problems with lesstif. However this isn't really
  important, since it will probably have to go to non-free anyway, so I
  can use openmotif.

- I am still awaiting a response from the copyright holders; with the
  current license, we need a permission to distribute modified
  versions. I hope they'll change it, but in any case I have to wait for
  a reaction.

The interaction with the copyright holders hasn't been copied to the
bug, because the main person involved actively refused to use electronic
communication...

Bug#237767: spanish locale package

2004-04-12 Thread Rudy Godoy
Package seems to work fine, tough I'd like to ask mantainer to change the
name to mozilla-firefox-spanish-es only, due it'd more generic than es_ES,
like -fr one, because people which uses es_MX or es_PE (as me) may think that
this will not work on their systems.

Spelling is fine as far as I checked. I'm native spanish speaking.

Bug#243357: ITP: ipfreeze -- daemon handling on-the-fly blacklisting for netfilter

2004-04-12 Thread Yann Dirson
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: ipfreeze
  Version : 0.4.8
  Upstream Author : Gregoire HUBERT [EMAIL PROTECTED]
* URL : http://savannah.nongnu.org/projects/yaffl/
* License : GPL
  Description : Daemon handling on-the-fly blacklisting for netfilter

ipfreeze is part of the yaffl project. It depends on libnetpacket-perl and
libipq-perl, not yet available in Debian, to be ITP'd separately. In the
meantime preliminary debs, and the ipfreeze one when it's available, are to
be found at http://ydirson.free.fr/soft/debian/netfilter/

This perl script listens on the netlink device for packets that are passed
by the firewall (QUEUE target). If a packet is sent, ipfreeze get the source
IP and insert a new rule in the firewall that will destroy every packets
coming from that IP. This rule is automatically removed after a
user-definable period (usually 10 or 20min).

Bug#132919: xsupplicant package

2004-04-12 Thread Eric Evans

Hi Chris,

I too have been creating packages of xsupplicant development releases,
(plus a few CVS snapshots), in preparation for a sponsored upload.

http://sym-link.com/~eevans/debian/unstable/xsupplicant/binary-i386/

I have been in contact with upstream, and am working with them on
resolving several issues prior to any serious effort in getting it
uploaded, (most of these changes will be in place in time for the 1.0
release of xsupplicant).

Unfortunately, I was unaware of your ITP or I would have made some
attempt at contacting you and avoiding overlapping efforts. I gather
from your CC to 132919 that you are aware of my efforts and intend to
proceed anyway. If this changes, let me know as I am still very
interested in this packaging it.

Thanks,

 If not, please retitle to RFP.

Hmm, this is dead project now, so it makes no sense to package it. If I will
time for packaging Wammu (it should be replacement for KAlcatel), I'll do
that (I currently maintain unofficial packages on http://cihar.com/debian/).

  Description : A package for down translation of XML files

This module is a XML down processor. It maps tag (element) names to
functions to process that element and respective contents.

This module processes XML files with an approach similar to OMNIMARK. As
XML parser it uses XML::Parser or XML::LibXML module in an independent
way. At configure stage, you should choose one of the back-ends.

I'm packaging gnumexp (#181506) and it needs this lib, available from CPAN at:
http://search.cpan.org/~jjoao/XML-DT-0.30/DT.pm

I sent the authors about the license, because I can't find it specified in any
file in the CPAN package. It's open source, because it's on CPAN.

I still plan to package qca, but before doing so, I'd like to see some
applications which actually use it. Until that, I assume that
siginificant changes to the upstream package are still possible and
building a debian package would not be very useful.

According to upstream, the only application using qca is psi. And the
qca-tls package contains the support needed by psi.

I request an adopter for the sylpheed-claws package.

Copying-pasting from the sylpheed RFA. I would like the one
who adopts this package to also pickup sylpheed, as they are
tightly related.

Althought I am not into the 'leaves RC bugs open for lots of
time' class aj talked about, I certainly could perform a much
better job in packaging if I were not overloaded.

I would like to focus on packages like apt-howto which
desperately needs updating/attention and would like to work
more closely to the GNOME packaging team.

I really like these packages (sylpheed-*), but they need more
attention than I can give them right now. So I'm looking for
someone who works with sylpheed daily, understands mail-related
protocols a bit and also have some C coding skills.

Upstream people are very nice and cooperate with me a lot --
much more than I have been cooperating with them =(

Thanks,

Hi folks,

sorry for the long delay, but I finaly made some packages avaible at:
http://www.schmehl.info/linux/debian/packages/opencola-softdrinkformula/

I'll ask my old sponsor, if everything is okay.

Yours sincerely,
