Bug#237144: RFA: gpppkill

2004-04-16 Thread Zak B. Elep
Hi! I'm interested in adopting your gpppkill utility. I want to join the
Debian Project as a maintainer, and since in your rfa you said gpppkill
would be a great first package for a nm, it fits me ;) Although DSL has
already penetrated my locality, I'm still relying on ppp for day-to-day
inet use. Thus, I see gpppkill not only as a good starting point for a
nm, but also as a simple tool for my own inet tracking needs.

In that view, I would gladly accept the opportunity of adopting and
maintaining this package as per #237144. Please contact me asap.

TIA, and more power,

I intend to adopt this package since it's a build dependency for tkisem

Is it really necessary to have a gradm2 package or could you update the
gradm package? It would be also nice if you could take over maintership of
the kernel-patch itself.

Bug#244152: ITP: rbldnsd -- small DNS daemon for DNSBLs

2004-04-16 Thread Blars Blarson
Package: wnpp
Version: N/A; reported 2004-04-16
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: rbldnsd
  Version : 0.992
  Upstream Author : Michael Tokarev [EMAIL PROTECTED]
* URL : http://www.corpit.ru/mjt/rbldnsd.html
* License : GPL v2
  Description : small DNS daemon for DNSBLs

rbldnsd is a very small and fast DNS daemon which is especially made
to serve DNSBL zones. This daemon was inspired by Dan J. Bernstein's
rbldns program found in djbdns package.

rbldnsd is extremly fast - it outperforms both bind and djbdns
greatly. It has very small memory footprint.

The daemon can serve both IP-based (ordb.org, dsbl.org etc) and
name-based (rfc-ignorant.org) blocklists. Unlike DJB's rbldns, it has
ability to specify individual values for every entry, can serve as
many zones on a single IP address as you wish, and, finally, it is a
real nameserver: it can reply to DNS metadata requests. The daemon
keeps all zones in memory for faster operations, but it's memory usage
is very efficient, especially for repeated TXT values which keept only
once.

  Description : Nagios service check acceptor - a nagios addon

This program is designed to accept passive service check results from
clients that use the send_nsca utility (also included in this package)
and pass them along to the Nagios process by using the external command
interface. The program can either be run as a standalone daemon or as a
service under inetd. If you have libmcrypt installed on your systems,
you can choose from multiple crypto algorithms (DES, 3DES, CAST, xTEA,
Twofish, LOKI97, RJINDAEL, SERPENT, GOST, SAFER/SAFER+, etc.) for
encrypting the traffic between the client and the server. Encryption
is important in this addon, as it prevents unauthorized users from
sending bogus check results to Nagios.

It is downloadable from http://www.nagios.org/download/extras.php.

MatrixSSL is an embedded SSL implementation designed for small footprint
devices and applications requiring low overhead per connection. The
library is less than 50K on disk with cipher suites. It includes SSLv3
server support, session resumption, and implementations of RSA, 3DES,
ARC4, SHA1, and MD5. The source is well documented and contains
portability layers for additional operating systems, cipher suites, and
crypto providers.

See http://www.matrixssl.org/

License is GPL2.
