Bug#232658: Xvidcore for Debian

2004-05-28 Thread Robert Millan

Hi Edouard,

I'm member of the Debian project. I would like to add this library to Debian.
Now that it's fully GPLed free software, it can be put in our distribution.

I have found that you made a package of it already, which is available in the
xvidcore sources. Would you like me to sponsor your package and add it to our
archive? I can do that if you are willing to fix a few minor bits to comply
with our policy.

Description: log file viewer with regexp matching, highlighting, hooks
Swatch is designed to monitor system activity. It reads a configuration
file which contains pattern(s) to look for and action(s) to perform when
 each pattern is found.
 .
A typical action is echoing the matched line in a variety of colours and
formats including reverse video, bold, underline, and normal, which swatch
knows how to do internally. Other actions include sending mail or
executing an arbitrary program on the line.
 .
Swatch is written in Perl and uses Perl regular expressions for line
 matching.
 .
This Debian version of swatch includes two directives not yet found in the
official swatch -- PERLCODE and threshold.

Justification: Packages out of date, last seen 2002, last MU April 2002,

nstx allows you to pass IP packets via DNS queries. This allows you to

Bug#251154: ITP: ifp-common -- ITP: ifp-common -- hotplug scripts for iRiver iFP devices

2004-05-28 Thread Eduard Bloch
#include hallo.h
* Joe Wreschnig [Thu, May 27 2004, 07:38:08PM]:

Installing this package will make hotplug automatically iRiver iFP
audio players plugged into the system. It creates an 'ifp-driver' group,
to which you can add users you want to be able to access iFP devices.

Is this group name really specific for the the iRiver devices or could
we create a common group name for all programs of this kind? Maybe
  mob-audio or so.

I agree this would be a good thing, though I'm not sure about that name.
 ('mob'?)

Shorter name for mobile. Not sure about how to choose the best one.

I'll look into the rioutil/rio packages to see how easy it would be to
integrate there. What other portable audio devices (that aren't just USB
mass storage) are supported in Debian?

In Debian? No idea.

Eduard.

Yes, of course it belongs to contrib, I forgot to mention that.
Actually debian/control which I have written already contains

Description : Bittorrent client featuring enhanced gui, curses mode and
advanced features that the existing bittorrent package is lacking

BitTornado is the next generation bittorrent client that was build on
the original BitTorrent. This client features an enhanced GUI and
console/curses mode, lots of new features under the hood, and is
generally one of the most advanced clients out there. Get this if you
need to limit your bandwidth, or you want more control of your
torrents. Its python and does everything the original bittorrent does,
plus more...
