Bug#263893: RFH: irm: upstream patch triage

2004-08-06 Thread Matthew Palmer
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

[For those who don't know, IRM is a web-based asset tracker and trouble
ticketing system written in PHP]

IRM is comatose upstream -- they still exist, but are working on a
Python-based replacement (IRM 2). I think there's life left in IRM 1.4, so
I'd like to go through all of the patches in the SourceForge patch tracker
for IRM and apply whatever's appropriate.

See the list of upstream patches at
http://sf.net/tracker/?group_id=14522atid=314522

The process I want to follow is:

for each patch:
identify functionality
determine if it's applies cleanly, messily, or not at all
test good patches for functionality, vet for security
report bad patches as being useless
rof

for each functionality group:
pick the best applicable patch
apply patch
rof

My intent is to get a report on *every* patch in the sf.net patch manager to
send upstream, (to get the sf.net patch tracker cleaned up), and have as
much useful functionality as possible in Debian's version of IRM.

I'll put a patch-list into the IRM source distribution and on the web
somewhere for coordination purposes once I've got some patch reports to put
in there. In the meantime, if anyone wants to submit patch / functionality
reports to me, I'd be most appreciative.

- Matt

Bug#211995: ITA of iroffer

2004-08-06 Thread Clément Stenac
Hello,

I'm deeply sorry I didn't answer your mail of Mayb 16th earlier, I had
posted from a wrong e-mail adress so your message basically arrived
nowhere.

I had prepared a new package for iroffer but have not been able to find
a sponsor to check it and eventually upload it.

I've not yet made a package for the newer upstream versions that have
been published since that time. I would be happy to do so, but would
prefer to find someone at least a little interested in that package
first.

Best regards,

Bug#235526: O: spong-common -- A systems and network monitoring system

2004-08-06 Thread Clément Stenac
retitle 235526 ITA: spong -- A systems and network monitoring system
thanks

Hello,

I intend to adopt this package.

I plan to:

- add basic manpages ( there is already some documentation, but in
perldoc, we should have a simple manpage saying that )
- try to fix the many lintian errors
- try to fix as many of the 12 bugs as possible, beginning by the important one
- clean up rules files to use more debhelper scripts
- more if needed

As I am not a DD, I hope I'll be able to find someone to check and maybe
upload the new package.

Spong's upstream is quite dead, but it is surely a very interesting
program that should be looked after

Best regards,

Bug#226265: What's the status on this ITP?

2004-08-06 Thread Moritz Muehlenhoff
Hi,
are you still working on your ITP? I had a look at Ogre and the
current 0.14.1 would require some additional work to disable
the Cg support for shader effects, which are only available as
non-free software. Otherwise two packages could be build:
one without Cg support for main and one for contrib.

Bug#237370: pgp5i

2004-08-06 Thread Ian Beckwith
After asking on debian-security, it appears that there is still a
demand for pgp in debian. Although gpg provides a superset of
features, it doesn't have IDEA support compiled in (it is
patent-encumbered) but pgp, as it is non-US/non-free, can still
support IDEA.

Packages of pgp5i are at

http://nessie.mcc.ac.uk/~ianb/debian/

I will attempt to find a sponsor to get a version with FTBFS fixes
into sarge, and then post-sarge upgrade the package to 6.5.8 and
rename it to pgpi.

Ian.

Bug#264107: O: dia2code -- a dia-UML code generator

2004-08-06 Thread Morgon Kanter
Package: WNPP
Severity: normal

I really don't know what I'm doing with this anymore, and I am unable to
give it the attention that it needs, so therefore I am orphaning it.

This package really needs someone to take over the upstream, it's pretty
safe to say that they are dead considering their last release was in
January of 2002. If nobody comes along to take over in a little while,
I'm going to go ahead and suggest the removal of this package from Debian.
