submitter 222730 !
thanks

Hi, are you still working on zope-groupuserfolder? It seems there is
no activity since December 2003.

I'm working on Plone2 packaging and I've already packaged
zope-groupuserfolder, so if you agree I'm changing the submitter of the
bug. I'll upload it as the other packages needed by Plone2 are ready.

Thanks,
Fabio.

Bug#279078: RFP: orion -- a window manager for X written in scsh

2004-10-31 Thread Björn Lindström

  Version : 0.2
  Upstream Author : David Frese
* URL : http://www.scsh.net/resources/graphics.html and
http://orion.elektrubadur.se/Getting_Orion
* License : BSD
  Description : a window manager for X written in scsh

(From freshmeat.net)
Orion is a window manager for the X11 windowing system. It is written in
Scheme and accesses Xlib via the scx library for scsh. It is in fact a
family of window managers that can be nested. This enables great flexibility
and efficient handling of X11 applications. It currently comes with four child
window managers: a conventional moving window manager, a window manager for
stacking windows in a frame, a window manager for splitting windows
horizontally,
and vertically and a work space manager. It also supports saving the window
manager
layout and programmatic configuration.

  Description : Validating XML parser library for C++

 Xerces-C++ is a validating XML parser written in a portable subset of
 C++. Xerces-C++ makes it easy to give your application the ability
 to read and write XML data. A shared library is provided for parsing,
 generating, manipulating, and validating XML documents. Xerces-C++ is
 faithful to the XML 1.0 recommendation and associated standards (DOM
 1.0, DOM 2.0, SAX 1.0, SAX 2.0, Namespaces, XML Schema Part 1 and
 Part 2). It also provides experimental implementations of XML 1.1
 and DOM Level 3.0. The parser provides high performance, modularity,
 and scalability.

xerces23, xerces24, and xerces25 are all also in Debian. For reasons
previously discussed on debian-devel, multiple versions of the xerces
packages have to be there at the same time. Executive summary: a
non-trivial amount of external software depends upon specific versions
of xerces, and external packages often lag behind in updating their
software to work with new versions. There are specific known
dependencies on all the above-mentioned versions.

  Description : Dumps kernel crash information to disk on system crash

From the web page:

The Linux Kernel Crash Dump (LKCD) project is designed to meet the
needs of customers and system administrators wanting a reliable method
of detecting, saving and examining system crashs. [...] LKCD is an
attempt to move Linux towards greater supportability.

LKCD contains kernel and user level code designed to:
* Save the kernel memory image when the system dies due to a software
 failure;
* Recover the kernel memory image when the system is rebooted;
* Analyze the memory image to determine what happened when the failure
 occurred.

LKCD consists of both kernel patches and user mode utilities. I have
not used it myself, but I *have* had the need for it (I am unable to
find out why my laptop keeps crashing :-().

The developers seem to be mostly people from IBM and SGI.

Glimpse is an indexing utility for files on a hard disk. It used to
be a Debian package. I don't know why it isn't anymore.

Home pages are at http://webglimpse.org/ or http://webglimpse.net/

Download is available http://webglimpse.net/download.html

License is freely available for non-commercial use. It might go in
non-free like the previous version 4.1-2 I have on my system.

Thanks,

I no longer use XMMS - haven't for close to a year now - so I'm
definitely not the best person to be looking after this package.

To the best of my knowledge, upstream doesn't work on this actively and
the bugs appear to be endian related. I'd recommend this package to
someone who:
- uses XMMS and likes the visualisation
- has access to an x86 and/or ppc machine

There is no need to inform me once you've taken over the package, JFDI.

Thanks,
Anand

This is great news, indeed.

Bug#279128: ITP: libcarp-assert-more-perl -- Convenience wrappers for libcarp-assert-perl

2004-10-31 Thread Allard Hoeve
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: libcarp-assert-more-perl
  Version : 1.06
  Upstream Author : Andy Lester [EMAIL PROTECTED]
* URL :
http://search.cpan.org/~petdance/Carp-Assert-More-1.06/More.pm
* License : GPL, Artistic
  Description : Convenience wrappers for libcarp-assert-perl

 Carp::Assert::More is a set of wrappers around the Carp::Assert functions
 to make the habit of writing assertions even easier.
 .
 The standard Carp::Assert only allows the use of the function assert. This
 function takes a boolean as an argument and results in quite elaborate
statements
 inside the assert call to properly test a case. Carp:Assert::More makes
available
 functions like assert_isa, assert_isnumeric, etc, which help to write cleaner,
 less bugprone code.

Bug#279131: RFP: libkawa-java -- Kawa is a Scheme environment, written in Java, and that compiles Scheme code into Java byte-codes

  Description : Kawa is a Scheme environment, written in Java, and that
compiles Scheme code into Java byte-codes

(Include the long description here.)
It is a full Scheme implementation. It implements almost all of R5RS (for
exceptions see Restrictions), plus some extensions. By default, symbols
are case sensitive. It is completely written in Java. Scheme functions
and files are automatically compiled into Java byte-codes. Kawa does some
optimizations, and the compiled code runs at reasonable speed.

  Description : A developers framework for rapidly developing
and deploying rich, full featured content types

Formerly known as CMFTypes, Archetypes is a developers framework
 for rapidly developing and deploying rich, full featured content
 types within the context of Zope/CMF and Plone.
 .
 Archetypes is based around the idea of an _Active Schema_. Rather
 than provide a simple description of a new data type Archetype
 schemas do the actual work and heavy lifting involved in using
 the new type. Archetype Schemas serve as easy extension points
 for other developers as project specific components can be
 created and bound or you can choose among the rich existing set
 of features.
 .
 Features
 * Simple schemas with working default policy.
 * Power and flexibility with lowered incidental complexity.
 * Integration with rich content sources such as Office Product Suites.
 * Full automatic form generation
 * i18n content on a field basis
 .

This source package will generate the following binary packages:
 * zope-cmfarchetypes
 * zope-cmftransforms
 * zope-generator
 * zope-validation

This product is a add-on for the Zope Content Management Framework
(CMF). It should be useful with Plone, CPS, and other CMF-derived
extensions, as well.

The product provides:
 * A new tool, portal_actionicons, which serves as a registry
   mapping object actions (using category and action ID) to a
   descriptive title, a priority, and an icon ID. The tool
   post-processes a set of actions (i.e., those generated by
   the portal_actions tool), decorating them with additional
   information, and sorting them according to priority.

 * ZPT macros which build either horizontal or vertical icon
   bars for a set of actions.
