I've seen you've done that with two other ITPs.

L2TPNS is half of a complete L2TP implementation. It supports only
the LNS side of the connection.

For us mere mortals, please state whether this thing initiates or
accepts connections. LNS doesn't ring any bell for me.

Perhaps contrasting this package agains l2tpd is worth a paragraph too.

Also supports ISP features like speed throttling, walled garden, usage
accounting, and more.

The same here: what is a walled garden in the context of L2TP?

Thank you for your time and work!

Bug#274472: Let's remove moria

2004-11-11 Thread Erik Schanze
Hello Andrew!

Andrew Pollock [EMAIL PROTECTED]:
 Given that moria is
 in non-free,
This is no reason for dropping. We should also support non-free software
in Debian.

 orphaned,
But it is in good shape at newest upstream version with no bugs.
Only Standards-Version should be updated.

 only a game,
We need as much games as possible in Debian, even if they are textbased,
I think.

 and hasn't had an
 upload in yonks,
No new upstream version is available since last upload.

I reckon we should remove it.
Why? You will only save some disk space on mirrors.
It is orphaned for 40 days only. Please give other maintainers some more
time to take it.
There are other packages in really bad shape that should be removed firstly.

Perhaps Rene Weber, who was back from MIA in summer, is interested in taking
it back. He wrote me in June, because he tried to get back as much of his
old packages as possible. But I'm suprized that his devloper page on q.d.o
shows
only moria, that is orphaned.
Is he on MIA again?
[CC to him]

Kindly regards,

Erik

I don't think LNS is an obscure term in regards to L2TP connections; all
the providers I've talked to about L2TP have used the term and also lots
of the documentation on the web; a simple Google search turns up many
results for lns l2tp. I don't think it should be the job of the Debian
package description to define these sorts of terms; the sort of people
who have a need for this package should already know what an LNS is.

Also supports ISP features like speed throttling, walled garden, usage
 accounting, and more.
The same here: what is a walled garden in the context of L2TP?

Again, I don't think this is that rare a term:

Description : database cluster middleware for JDBC

C-JDBC is a database cluster middleware that allows any Java application
(standalone application, servlet or EJB container, ...) to
transparently access a cluster of databases through JDBC(tm). The
database is distributed and replicated among several nodes and C-JDBC
balances the queries among these nodes. C-JDBC handles node failures

Hi all,
I would like to adopt ``aeromail'' package. With the present email I would like
the bug #229960 to be renamed from O to ITA.
This package has been orphaned for more than 250 days; its development
too. I, however, found a guy who started new features and enhancement in
order to develop 2.x releases.
I'm in touch with him and I would like to make this package available
also for Debian GNU/Linux.
Thank you in advance

Regards

SteX

Description: A hotkeys daemon for your Internet/multimedia keyboard in X
This program sits at the back and listens for the special hotkeys
that you won't normally use on your Internet/Multimedia keyboards.
The buttons perform their intended behaviors, such as volume up and
down, mute the speaker, launch applications, etc. It has On-screen
display (OSD) to show the volume, program that's being started, etc.
 .
It features an XML-based keycode configuration file format, which
makes it possible to define the hotkeys to launch any programs you
 want.

Justification: Doesn't respond to ping, no upload in nearly two years

Bug#274472: Let's remove moria

2004-11-11 Thread Rene Weber
Hello,

On Thu, Nov 11, 2004 at 11:38:21AM +0100, Erik Schanze wrote:

No new upstream version is available since last upload.

Indeed, nor do I expect there ever to be another one (though it's
possible).

Perhaps Rene Weber, who was back from MIA in summer, is interested in
taking it back. He wrote me in June, because he tried to get back as much
of his old packages as possible. But I'm suprized that his devloper page
on q.d.o shows only moria, that is orphaned. Is he on MIA again?

No, but I'm transitioning e-mail addresses.
[EMAIL PROTECTED] is on the way out,
[EMAIL PROTECTED] is the future (unfortunately,
this is too long for the DDPO web form, so you have to search by my full
name instead, which will show my other packages).

I decided not to take moria back because I'm already overextended, it's
non-free, and I'm not a good candidate since I haven't played it in quite a
while. On the other hand, it only requires minimal effort to maintain, so I
would consider adopting it again if it's going to be deleted. I haven't
decided what I'm going to do about that yet.

Rene
