This application takes a wave file and break it up into multiple wave
files. It makes a clean break at the correct position to burn the
files to an audio cd without any dead air between the tracks. It will
  only read wave files.
  .
There is also a command line tool to merge wave files together,
  wavmerge.

NG what is the difference to wavsplit?

I think the main difference is the GUI. This package was requested by

IMO this should be stated explicitly in the bugreport.
He's free to state his wish to take over this package and retitle the
bug appropriately. There are some bugs which were titled ITP but only
requested the presence of the package in Debian and not the intent to do

Did you contact the 2.6.9 kernel maintainers already? To me the patch

alternative to build a ``kernel-patch-inotify'' temporary and have

If there is not inotify patch in the kernel, fam can use polling:
http://oss.sgi.com/projects/fam/faq.html#fam_no_imon

And AFAIK, Debian kernel has not such patch:
http://costa.wiggy.net/svn/kernel/tags/kernel/source/2.6.9-2/kernel-source-2.6.9-2.6.9/debian/patches/?rev=0sc=0

No, I have not contacted him. And the problem with that patch is that I
don't know if building a module is enough, or it is a bit more
intrusive. If not, that could be done (but I'm not very keen of
maintaining a kernel patch)

There is a delay in packaging this software, by request from one of the
authors Christian Schoenebeck writes :

But as I told you, LinuxSampler is not yet ready for a serious release.
We have to fix a disk streaming bug and fix an efficiency issue in the
core synthesis algorithm, otherwise LS will not be capable to render a
sufficient amount of voices.
I just want to avoid prejudices. Again, it won't take long til we have
fixed those two issues, so I think it's worth waiting for it.

This library can be used for upstream or debian maintainers to copy files
into their source, or for debian packages to automaticaly import them. It
works similarly to autotools-dev, libtool and such.

[1] Most of the components are GPLed, some are GFDLed (non-free) and some are
undetermined. I'll have to review the sources when preparing a package,
so this may take a while.

Description : memorisation tool with optimal question scheduling

MemAid is like a traditional flash-card program to help you memorise
question/answer pairs, but with an important twist: it uses a neural network to
schedule the best time for an item to come up for review.

Difficult items that you tend to forget quickly will be scheduled more often,
while MemAid won't waste your time on things you remember well. This means your
learning process becomes much more efficient, also because the neural network
gradually adapts to your personal memory model.

MemAid is quite similar to a proprietary program called SuperMemo.
This package provides PyQT and Superkaramba frontends for MemAid.

Description : versatile resource statistics tool

Dstat is a versatile replacement for vmstat, iostat and ifstat. Dstat
overcomes some of the limitations of these programs and adds some
 extra features.

Dstat allows you to view all of your network resources instantly, you
can for example, compare disk usage in combination with interrupts
from your IDE controller, or compare the network bandwidth numbers
directly with the disk throughput (in the same interval).

Dstat also cleverly gives you the most detailed information in columns
and clearly indicates in what magnitude and unit the output is displayed.

Dstat is also unique in letting you aggregate block device throughput for
a certain diskset or network bandwidth for a group of interfaces, i.e. you
can see the throughput for all the block devices that make up a single
 filesystem or storage system.

Dstat's output, in its current form, is not suited for post-processing by
other tools, it's mostly meant for humans to interprete real-time data
 as easy as possible.
