This ITP tclspice is closed because I have now packaged ngspice which
tclspice is derived from.

The difference between the two softwares is that tclspice has a nicer
graphing front end, however is a little more buggy then ngspice.

I would of thought they would of gotten through the NEW package queue, but I
guess not.

I have uploaded them to http://people.debian.org/~msp as well now.

It seems to me like the obvious thing to do is to put this program in non-us, if
it is going to be a problem to host it online within the US. This avoids the
problem of distributing illegal debian CDs also, right?

2004-12-01 Thread Juan Manuel Garcia Molina
Hi, Ralph and folks.

I'd like to know if you keep on working to get qsa-x11-free packaged.

I maintain a package called facturalux. Recent upstream versions of facturalux
depend on qsa, so I'd thank you any info on the state of packaging.

Thanks in advance,
Juanma.

How is this going? I downloaded the unofficial .deb packages available
at the mentioned URL and they worked fine. But the functionality seems
to be very limited. Is there anything one could help on this (both the
Debian and the upstream side?). Or are there any other GUI solutions
available (I didn't find any)?

Fine to have a new dict,

Please take a look at the policy document for (ispell|myspell) dictionaries
and wordlists. You can find it at dictionaries-common-dev package or at

  http://dict-common.alioth.debian.org

There is a coordination mailing list at alioth (dict-common-dev). That is a
very low volume mailing list, and even if not many (ispell|myspell)
dictionaries and wordlists maintainers are subscribed, it is the best place
to address any comment.

Cheers,

Bug#259742: ITP: selectwm -- Select a window manager at X startup

Hi Luis,

do you still intend to adopt selectwm? You ITA is now over 3 months
old.

FYI, I've done two QA uploads of selectwm, the first one will
hopefully trickle into sarge on Dec 10th, the second one (which fixes
all outstanding bugs :) is lurking in the Delayed/10 queue and will
hence hit sid on Dec 13th.

Bug#283578: ITP: hot-babe -- erotic graphical system activity monitor

2004-12-01 Thread Nathanael Nerode
If this is packaged, I respectfully request that alternate graphics of a hot
hunk be available.

I think this measure would render it a significantly more general-purpose
program.

Bug#283578: ITP: hot-babe -- erotic graphical system activitymonitor

2004-12-01 Thread Nathanael Nerode
More seriously, it would be better if this were distributed as a more
generic program which represented the system activity by a series of pictures.
The pictures could be distributed in separate packages, with a deliberatly
non-erotic default option, and a pictures-off package for pictures which
might be offensive to some people.

Bug#283903: ITP: dbconfig-common -- common framework for packaging database applications

2004-12-01 Thread Sean Finney
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-
Hash: SHA1

  Package name: dbconfig-common
  Version : 0.7
  Upstream Author : sean finney <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
  URL :
http://people.debian.org/~seanius/policy/dbconfig-common.html
  License : BSD
Description : common framework for packaging database applications

dbconfig-common is an implementation of the "best practices for database
applications" (http://people.debian.org/~seanius/policy/dbapp-policy.html)
draft, which provides debian packagers with an easy, reliable, and
consistant method for managing databases used by debian packages.

dbconfig-common can:

* create databases and database users
* access local or remote databases
* upgrade/modify databases when upstream changes database structure
* remove databases and database users
* prompt users with a set of normalized, pre-translated questions
* do all the hard work automatically
* work for package maintainers with little effort on their part
* work for local admins with little effort on their part
* comply with an agreed upon set of standards for behaviour
* do absolutely nothing if it is the whim of the local admin
* reconfigure the database of a package via dpkg-reconfigure

currently, only support exists for mysql databases, but i'm now
working on integrating postgresql support too. i've started
an alioth project if anyone is interested in helping out.

Bug#227525: Kimdaba-packaging in Debian/unstable

Hi,

Currently, there's no support for KIPI plugins on the official package.
The kipi-plugins and required libraries are yet to be packaged for
Debian. Achim Bohnet is working on them, as soon as they are ready,
I'll update kimdaba to have pluging support.

In the meantime, you may try the unofficial kimdaba package, which has
kipi-plugin support. It is stored at Achim's unofficial repository:

deb http://www.mpe.mpg.de/~ach/debian/experimental ./
deb-src http://www.mpe.mpg.de/~ach/debian/experimental ./

Add these to sources.list and install kimdaba and kipi-plugins
packages.

Please remember that the plugin-enabled pkg is unofficial and that the
plugins are not part of kimdaba. Bugs on the plugins should not be
assigned to kimdaba.

 Cheers,
